"Dum, de, dum, de, dum, dum, dum, hum, de, hum, de, hum, hum"
a creepy crawly, creepy crawly spider in the bath
I know he’s only there because he wants to have a laugh,
with hairy legs and beady eyes that terrify and tantalize!A spider in the bath..<shudder>5 -
Loved that song when my kids were small.
I think it went
I like bunny rabbits, I like frogs,
I like pu$$y cats and i like dogs,
Talking to a tiger is like falling off a log,
Being friendly with the animals is easy.
I've got two hamsters in the garden shed,
One called Sebastian, the other one's Fred,
I've even got a teddy bear I take to bed
Being friendly with the animals is easy.
(chorus as before, But a spider in the bath, etc)One life - your life - live it!5 -
Gutters have finally been cleared out. They weren’t too bad this time. Hurrah. I sorted my shed out so I can actually get in it sadly discovered a hole in the roof. No hope of getting it fixed before winter. Don’t keep anything in there that could be ruined by rain though so not a huge disaster.Have got an appointment for my stove to be swept and serviced. Also adding in an access panel to aid the removal of the soot. Hoping it won’t require much more work to get ready for winter.Washed one of my bed spreads ready for winter, one more to go! Just hoping the weather holds to get it dried. Was debt free then ex walked out and COVID hit.5

I’ve deleted the Facebook app from my mobile phone in preparation for the winter. 😃It’s the only social media thing that I do – I belong to lots of mutual interest groups but it’s easy to spend too much time on it.Now I have to go through all the faff of reclaiming my desk so I have somewhere to sit because I still have it on my laptop obviously. 😃
I’m also going to stop watching the news in the morning. I’m going to listen to the radio and concentrate on the weather forecast instead, making the most of any opportunity to get outside 😃7 -
Freshening up the blankets as it's a dry sunny day here, ready for the colder weather, also got 1 pair of bed socks made, OH has claimed them, so need to crack om with a pair for me...….
I've added some of the winter festival food stuff to the next shopping order just to help out cost wise now the stuff is coming in the shops, 1 or 2 things each time I do an order will mean I don't have to brave the shops at a very busy time of year and can hole up and bake, watch films and most important, cuddle the cat.

I decided that I needed yet another scarf for this winter ( thinking of all the queueing outside shops that will probably happen ) OH and youngest son usually refuse my offer to knit them one but haven’t this year so I’m busy for another few weeks. I bought my first Xmas present today too, in case the shops have to shut. I hate paying postage.

I did some canning yesterday and today. I had some stock in the freezer which wasn't earning its keep in terms of the space it took up so I canned it and also canned a big batch of chilli con carne. A 500ml jar is just right for two servings and it's really quick to grab one off the shelf rather than waiting for a big block to defrost. That has freed up space in the freezer so that I can get a meat order in. I'm not expecting the zombie apocalypse but as I have osteoporosis I like to have good stocks in come the colder weather so that I don't have to go out if it's icy. The change in the weather over the last two days made me feel squirrely. I also put the electric blanket on the bed when I flipped the mattress. I get aches and pains if I'm cold when I get into bed.
Soon be time to light the fire of an evening as wellIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!10 -
Let it be known that for the first time ever, the central heating in this house is now on - in September. And we're darn sarf in Sussex, albeit at 700ft ASL!
We're all doomed9 -
