Oh my god. I won't be able to sleep for a week now, stretching my ears for the sound of humming...

Y'know that rhythmic sound you thought was the tap dripping? Listen more carefully and you'll hear the accompanying "si-i-i-ingin' in the bath.... jsut si-i-i-ingin' in the bath..." as it tap-dances to while away the hours til rescue arrives...MingVase said:Oh my god. I just saw this on a blog I follow. I thought it was quite helpful.
If You’re Already Dreading Winter, Here Are Some Small Ways to Prepare Now

I love spiders - they kill flies and other pests. We have an enormous one in our bedroom - certainly getting enough to eat. We both wish it goodnight and then next morning it'll have coveered half the room and be on the opposite side. We always try not to kill anything. We've got a mouse problem and rats in the garden - which is why we got a cat - who sits and watches them play. I went to get some flour - my bad for not putting it in jars - and the mice had been in the expensive stuff - gluten free, vital wheat gluten and gram flour - and left my tes*o value stuff alone. I've put everything in jars and bought steel wool tto plug any and all holes. Our gardener brings her dog around regularly to keep the rats away.Clutter free wannabee 2021 /52 bags to cs. /2021 'stuff' out of the placeYOU CANNOT BE ALL THE GOOD THAT THE WORLD NEEDS, BUT THE WORLD NEEDS ALL THE GOOD YOU CAN BEtaken from Shelbizleee on YouTube - her copyright4

We like spiders too - they are useful. This is our latest....

I’m not that fussed by spiders just mistrustful of anything that can run faster than me.Now I know they enjoy show tunes, that puts a whole different light on it!I am getting used to spiders actually because I haven’t dusted properly since May now and I have the back door open half the night. If one runs across the carpet I just pick my feet up off the floor. 😂 Live and let live 😃9

Hello, could I have a leg up please?betony said:
It's a myth that spiders come in through plug holes. What happens is that they're having a lovely walk, probably humming a show-tune or something to themselves, along the edge of the bath and suddenly lose their footing (understandable, given all those legs) and slip down into the bath and then, because the sides of the bath are sheer and slippery, can't get out again. They have to wait, probably still humming, until someone comes along and gives them a leg or two out of the bath.3secondmemory said:
Usually, if I go away for a couple of nights I do a little squirt of toilet duck down all the plug holes but I forgot this time and Came home to find a huge spider in the bath.maryb said:My sister is the most soft hearted creature you could imagine and spiders, wasps etc get released outside with tender care. Moths, now! Genghis Khan, shift over!I Pulled off a square of toilet paper thinking I could grab it with that but it was nearly the same size.I did manage to scoop it up and drop it, and the toilet paper out of the bathroom window ☺️I don’t know why people squash them because then you have to clean up the mess and deal with the carcass
