Heating on in my house in Derbyshire, now have three happy cats. Bought new brushed cotton bedding in a Christmas theme as a treat. It’s not going on till my Christmas decorations go up though.

No heating on here in Telford, still got windows ajar in both sitting-room and bedroom...  

Mind you, we've not actually used our central heating in 6 years living here, except to test it. We've two 'stone pig' Victorian ceramic hot water bottles, as I always bang on about Those do the job nicely for us...

We bought some sheets of silicone on eBay and cut our own washers! Longer-lasting than rubber...

I’ve been given a date for my pre-up – the 6th of October. I can’t believe that it was in January that I posted that I was due to go into hospital and have been told that I should wear a mask. It seems like another lifetime ago! 

I think I will be able to face the winter and what is to come, knowing that at least this is out of the way. My health has been getting worse and I’ve achieved nothing this year. my mood sank this morning as swiftly as the temperature. Ordinarily I wouldn’t dream of putting the heating on in September but I’m tempted. I need a curtain for the front door and a new letterbox - You can really feel the change in temperature in the hall.

Wood burner lit here x

Had mine on today as well in North Yorkshire. I need to get some more wood so I can use my wood burner. I have some stored in the garage but not enough to last the winter.
