Heating on two days ago here in Scotland. Beautiful sunny day though and I’ve had a lovely time out in the park with DD and DGSs and then a dog walk. Really lovely autumn weather. There was a breeze yesterday and it was lovely to watch the leaves falling. There are some nice red ones now. I love autumn.7

Definitely turning much colder in County Durham. I put the bedroom radiator on for an hour last night and a fleece on the bed. Living room and dining room radiators have been turned on very low but that's all so far. I have gone from t- shirt to long sleeved t-shirt!Looking into the ECO flex system supplying some thicker loft insulation and possibly helping with some better ch. Autumn has hit with a vengeance here - after beginning the week with midsummer temperatures, it was armageddon on Friday and has been pretty horrendous since! 🙈
We've had trees down, wifi knocked out and power cuts- thankfully due to Winter preps I was totally prepared so it hasn't been a major trauma 😉
I do need to look at getting a powerbank for charging my mobile though - I ended up sitting in my car to do it yesterday!! 🙈😂

Making sure i can charge them in a emergency would mean no major meltdowns.I'm no authority on the subject at all, but when doing my homework recently before investing in our Anker 20,000mAh powerbank (which is an excellent piece of kit, btw), I did learn that if you're going to be charging tablets, you need something a bit more butch than one intended for phones.Beware getting talked into something unsuitable by an acneous youth in Curry's (or god forbid, PC World). Maybe ask for recommendations on the MSE Techie Stuff forum? We're all doomed8

Heating on here. Just for an hour or two when it gets nippy. I live with someone who is immunocompromised and vulnerable and is suffering from a long term condition so keeping them warm is really important. We can tick the boiler service off the to do list and laundering all the heavy bed blankets and sorting out bed linen. I replaced my bed during lockdown and consequently need to go and find some brushed cotton bed linen so am looking through what Dunelm / Asda have got. Has anyone bought new brushed cotton bedding recently. Can anyone recommend any bargains? We are due to complete the last of our double glazing replacements in the house at the end of the month as the old doors are 30 years old and are well past sell by date. Getting some lovely new doors installed which will hopefully be much more energy efficient and keep the draughts out. Like a lot of people this winter I will be working from home a lot of the time so won't need to go out and buy any new winter work clothes but am focusing on what we need to stay warm and safe and comfortable at home. We both had our flu jabs last week so can tick that off the list as well. Hope everyone is staying as safe and well as possible.
