I meant the Roku 2400EU LT. Now cheapest seems to be £35. Perhaps you find one via eBay for less.

You can get YouTube on the Now TV box(It is a 'locked down' Roku). The Roku is the unlocked version, so it has a lot more channels available, including DailyMotion, Vevo etc

Apparently, this is the full list of Apps available to the NOW TV box. Haven't checked them for myself.

You use a rocker switch on the remote to choose letters. There is also search function within the YouTube App.
With Roku, you can use your phone's keypad to control some function.
Not sure if you can do that with the NOW TV box.

This depends on what you want to do, and what equipment you already have. Take a look at Chromecast, too, if you have a smart phone.

All of these devices are primarily about viewing video content on a big TV. They work pretty well for that, however their capability for more general browsing and other things is more limited. If eBay or Facebook or whatever is important to you, I would check if/how they work on your proposed TV add-on box.

More generally, browsing on a TV is not a great user experience, anyway, especially if there isn't a full-sized keyboard and a proper mouse.

I'm assuming from the context that browsing is what you mean by "using wifi".

Yeah moreso Youtube. Would make life a little easier viewing on the big screen! :D Let's hope 'buffering' isn't an issue!

Just read in Roku your watching in 760p, not full HD? What does that mean?

The now TV box works with wi fi ie no cables but it does not have internet browser. Still for £10 I think it is very good value can be brought direct from the now TV website, do not buy from ebay people charge more for them on there.

Someone mentioned you can get eBay on roku, does that mean the roku box has a browser? I also have a roku box but can't see a browser app how do I get this?

Some of the roku boxes will display full hd but only on the chanels that transmit it which at the moment in only iplayer. The now TV box doesn't display full hd but as only one channel has it, it is not really worth worrying about.

Just read in Roku your watching in [STRIKE]760p[/STRIKE]720p, not full HD? What does that mean?

Is your TV HD Ready or Full HD?
You might pop into a PC World and take a look at the quality of an HD Ready image and Full HD . HD Ready; 1280 x 720 pixels(dots of detail) HD; 1920 x 1080 Pixels.

A few(if not all) Freeview HD channels put out Full HD material.

The Now TV box outputs in 720p, as does the Roku 2400 EU LT. Other Roku models will output in 1080p.

My mum has the NOW TV box on her Full HD TV and it is perfectly acceptable.
My brother has the Roku 2400 on his less than HD TV and he is happy.

I'm not sure if it has a browser, maybe someone else can answer this?

It's full hd. I've just saw the Roku 1 on Curry's for £29.99 (save £20) might be my new purchase!! :D
