I don't find that having value products makes me feel depressed or ashamed...I *can* see that the packaging probably isn't the most visually pleasing thing to have around the house, but luckily all my food etc goe in cupboards where i can't see it.
Which is good because me life is FAR to busy to faff about switching all my food into different boxes, where do you find the time!?August grocery challenge: £50
Spent so far: £37.40 :A0 -
I am sooo bored of the value packaging. I do decant it because its sooo ugly and boring, BUT ALSO because my hubby will complain if he sees something thats value. Its best if he just doesnt know!
Also, I heard that the people growing onions for tesco got told to put uglier onions in the value packs, because too many people were buying value onions.
I always use value bubble bath in soap dispensers, because no one knows whats in there anyway. I sometimes add in a drop of esential oil if I want it to have a new smell.
Value cleaning products are all I use, as long as they have them in the shop. Tesco have these 'pack of 3 microfibre cloths' for about 80p - they are like flannels! Awesome!! They go on my vileda mop-wiper thing aswell!
I dont like the frozen value chicken nuggets/burgers/sausages. They taste horrible. Ive been making my own versions at home for a while anyway. Much tastier.
I know people who DO judge you on what food you buy, and these people I feel are terribly sad, but they also enrage me. Grr!''A moment's thinking is an hour in words.'' -Thomas Hood0 -

Have no problem with buying the value items in mr t's mr S etc or going to liddle an aldi, my mil says we shouldnt as its not fair to the kids, hubbys reply was why they eat more healthy than we meaniing him and bro n sis did and are not always hungry as he was
my bil is the same as his mum wont buy the cheaper things him an his wife even went to wait for it HARRODS to buy washing up liquid to have out on show they wont ever us it as have dishwasher and said its so people can see it,fools. Our kids eat really healthy,i cant see the point in buying something just for the name or the packaging,do think the idea of putting bubble bath n shampoo into a pump dispenser excelent idea will do that from now as youngest son uses loads we have bubbles everywhere when he has a bath prob more bubles than water lol thanksfor that advice
take care allIt's an honour having such a lovely family and being welsh, what more could a girl want :rotfl:0 -
that is unbelieveable if i had even drunk bottled water at school i would have been beaten out of the school gates let alone what the brand is!!!
i agree that you buy what you like and can afford and present it how you are comfortable, but surely it would be better to put toiletry and kitchen items in cupboards rather than decanting.
And buy as many things as possible without packaging, then you dont have the problem and its better for the environment too!!!!!£5000 debt cleared thanks to MSE advice :money:0 -
A friend of mine buys value bottled water all the time.....for her CAT:eek:
Pertsonally I really don't care if packaging is ugly, if the veg or fruit are an ugly shape or in fact if the shop is ugly. As long as I am getting good food at a good price then I am a happy mudgekin0 -
thankfully my OH doesnt mind value food items as he is from a family of 6 and they couldnt afford much other than the basics as they only planned on having one more child and ended up with twins... he will eat almost anything!! we dont use the toiletries though,or washing powder as we have sensitive skin.0

Lol my friends don't know I use value products. Mainly because I cook everything from scratch so it's difficult to tell!!! I also work for a big beauty retailer with a genourous staff discount and a reduced items shop in the offices. So I do buy very high value branded beauty products but they cost me the same as value brand beauty products!Taking baby-steps :beer:0
