  • Hello all, MIA again yesterday, total nightmare afternoon at work, I'm really starting to dread thurs afternoons,!! They always go pear shaped and leave me wiped out. had to finish making an owl misfit with dd1 former bestest friends birthday today so that took most of my evening cleaning time.

Anyway, we're having a big party here tomorrow evening for the neighbours, the wine is bought, the food shop was delivered last night, and if I can stop my self from eating all the crisps we should have plenty!

    List this pm:
Make cheese straws, little quiches, wrap sausages in bacon with honey and sesame seeds

    Tidy downstairs

    Hoover and mop downstairs

Finish icing cake - have done the marzipan this morning already

    Wm x2

    Td

    Clean downstairs loo

    Check plastic cups and glasses

Clean cat area and litter tray

Ds to football, make cheesy pasta and peas for kids tea.

Dh to pick up dd +friend from beavers

    HHI

    Put sewing stuff away

    Right cracking on! Xx
  • Ok so my week flying never really got off the ground :(
However the wee one has a very high temp (39.1!!) So I kept her home today and we have had snuggles and watched tv/DVDs. I have managed to get loads done though today with should help me keep on top for next week.

3x washing machine and hung up
    Dishwasher emptied and filled
Hoovered my room and sitting room
    bathed E
    Cleaned shower
Cleaned downstairs toilet minus sweeping floor
    6x small hotspots cleared
    watched frozen with E
put a couple of things on FB selling page
    Wrapped 2 Xmas pressies

Things I still hope to get done today:

    Clear kitchen table of junk
    Empty kitchen bin
    Put our washing away
    Put wee ones washing away
    Clear computer desk
    Make dinner

If I can get everything done before I have to go out and get OH then tonight I am going for a bath and then going to get my crochet out (I am just learning)

Right back to it. Will check in later. Xx

Quoting and Post Reply are playing up.

Dusty, when I heard about the cricket bats today I thought of you instantly. I'd never heard of Philip Hughes before the accident, but I hope it's some consolation for those who knew and cared about him that he is mourned and won't be forgotten. My heart goes out to the bowler.

Healing vibes for Pixie, she looks proper poorly. I hope you haven't been struck down by it Piggers, and if you have, healing vibes for you too. I'll say a little prayer-like thing for your aunt; she sounds as though she needs to be in this world for a while longer.

Disgusting Alert - Don't read this if you've got a squeezy tummy.

What I say to people who stay at the chalet is that I'd like them to leave the chalet as they found it, and I really mean it. And that includes emptying the shower room bin, particularly women - if you get my drift. *yuk* *yuk* *yuk* It never occurred to me that I needed to check it and the last let was about three weeks ago. I knew she hadn't cleaned the shower properly but puuuuuhleeeeeeeese. That was NOT NICE. I have used a quantity of bleach over there again today, something I very rarely do but needs must.

    End of Alert

Five hours I was cleaning at the chalet while OH had day case surgery. He's home, and has a set of instructions which will no doubt have him milking it for a week or three. His GP told him it was nothing to worry about over the last five years and eventually I asked him to get a second opinion and I'm very, very glad I did. Outpatient appointment in three weeks time, hopefully, and if all goes to plan when he'll get the biopsy result which if the GP was right will be the end of it. It shouldn't grow back either way but I want to safe, not sorry.
    Better is good enough.

    Hiya

Sorry I've been MIA this week but had DS2 staying with me and we have had a super week with lots of going places, doing things and eating/drinking more than I should have :rotfl:

Been lovely to spend some time with him though and now he has departed on the train the house seems really quiet.

    Belated Happy Birthday wishes Ionafan

I hope Pixie soon feels better Pigpen

I totally agree with you HB on being better things get checked

Had a quick dash through the rest of the thread and hope I didn't miss anyone. I am attaching a bucket full of ((hugs)) and happy vibes for anybody needing a few - please help yourself

I am not going to try to catch up with the lists now and will start afresh next week.

    Today
    Done the dailies
Unmade the sofa bed and put the spare room back to order.
Done four loads of washing. Most of it is dry, folded and resited.
Have sorted all the recycling and put out to appropriate bins
Made a huge pot of chicken curry for tomorrow - I will freeze what is left.
    Shuffled some monies online
Made oxtail and veggie soup from left-overs (I've eaten mine)

I'm having a little sit after my soup and then will finish the WUDUPA in the kitchen and wipe over the tops and floor.

Hope you all have a super Saturday

How are you getting on? Tax return has been top of my list for the last 2 months saying ribbit ribbit ribbit :)

Have swallowed small tadpole and just filled in the on-line registration for self-employment. Had mental deadline of Dec 1st as that's when I want to officially start (more precisely, I can't properly claim heating etc for working from home until I'm properly registered so that was my incentive.). Pending/current tax return is a tad complicated as it covers a few months at old employment (part time), a bit of freelancing (for uni, PAYE) and a bit of freelance assessment (as yet untaxed). Minus some expenses.

Just caught up on thread as had a course on Wed then lots of work Thurs & Fri - so belated happy birthday to Ionafan, glad better news about your mum Dusty and general spoons and whatever is needed to everyone else!
Went ice skating at local garden centre yesterday with OH work colleagues so I guess that counts as exercise (so long as you ignore the cappuccino and cake afterwards...............).
Not much flying for the last 3 days apart from just about keeping up with dishwasher, washing machine, putting clothes away and cooking meals!
Am actually keeping up quite well with student paperwork this year; all vital (i.e. must be in paper form) docs in individual plastic wallets, named with a sticker, stored all facing the same way in a box on my desk. Religiously emptying bag and replacing in box at the end of each day. Electronic stuff in individually-named folders in Dropbox so I can reach it from anywhere. sorry too much boring detail but I'm pleased it is working well and much less hassle than last year's mess.

Have registered as self-employed so that is one frog less; needed to start now to make April's tax return easier. Just need to focus on current one now, so will use next half hour to finally gather any stray bills etc.
