All Wednesday jobs now done.
I ended up buying three newspapers for the vouchers. Used one today (adding up the items as I went round). I didn't seem to have a lot for the weekly shop but bought wine and stuff for the hamper and £15 of breakfast cereal (I have it down to a fine art on how much we eatof which cereal!). Also got got gammon and chicken which was over £10 But anyway spent £51 (£41 after voucher). Will go again on Sunday for normal weekly shop and then again on Thursday for a stock up shop ( dishwasher tabs, washing powder, cat food etc) this means I will have saved about £35 altogether! Result! Then my shopping bill was ll be £25-£30 a week for the rest of the month!
F-I-l presents now got. He was very specific about what he wanted and I found Mataram sold them. Got to matalan this morning and they were giving out vouchers for £10 off a £50 spend. I said I wiould never spend that. Headed to the the till and realised I had spent £45 so I got something e tra to use the voucher! Result!
Also got half of my dads Christmas present. So now just my mum, brother, half of dads and OH to get! Want to start wrapping soon, so I can get rid off f it all!
Am going to do a little bit more ironing as still have stuff in the basket and then will look at today's lists!Grocery challenge-

Ooh I got an @mazon lightening deal :T was just back from school in time for it to start, and I'd checked prices on item earlier when I saw it was coming up. DD will love it!
Anyone else looking at Black Friday deals? Any strategies? I don't really need anything but if I spot something for the kids at a good price I may be tempted.Bossymoo

Thank you Lame Wolf.
Multiple posivibes to Mr LW for his scan, and I hope you can stop worrying soon. You are just like my friend who worries more about her son than about her own medical problems. It's not silly at all, but it is very wearing and I'm not surprised you're tired.
More spoons coming your way, and I hope you will be able to enjoy your meal this evening and relax.
No chance of a relaxing evening, I fear; we have to attend a CAMRA branch meeting. I'd sooner not bother, but feel duty-bound to go because I've been complaining loudly about them choosing so many wheelchair-inaccessible places for their meetings.
I'm told the one tonight has a wheelchair entrance, but an able-bodied person has to go and find a member of the pub staff to come and open it as there's no handle/knob on the outside. I do not relish sitting out in the cold and the dark in the a$$ end of Bletchley while Mr LW finds someone to open the door for me, I have to say.:mad:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hi all - sorry ben missing in action as been to shop for vouchers, then to mr A to use voucher - home to unpack. I don't know how I did it but managed to get my total to £50 and a penny!!!
Quick breakfast and to Vol job for 9.15 - then money sort. Really tired now.
Best possible news about Mum, Dusty. Hope it's possible to do the op. Thoughts with Mr LW, CY's mum and Iona's friend.
I admit to being tempted by Amazon, Bossy. Got a boxed set of Bones - series 1-8 for about £28 yesterday!! We have been looking at it for ages. There are some deals starting at midnight tonight - and of course Mr T and loads of others are doing it too. Good job I have to go to bed early, LOL!! Also bought our Xmas present to "the house" and one for DS for his flat!!!!
Just about to eat then need to see if D Sis needs me to buy something for her - but she's not in!!
FYI My strategy is to get up early and check through the lot, research the prices and make a note of the time any I'm interested in are coming up - then sit there ready about two minutes before hand ready to click!!! I also have a mental note of how much I am prepared to pay.
Take care and catch up tomorrow. xx
ETA - Happy birthday Iona.July 16 £95/£200

Main bedroom Done!
Bag of rubbish out, and one bag to Oxfam.
I sorted my knitting stuff into: stuff to sew up, new wool and patterns, bits of wool and needles etc. All but the unfinished projects are back in wardrobe (where they seem to have expanded and are taking more room than before). The stuff to sew MUST be finished and then it too can be removed from room.
I have also landed a couple of Christmas presents for DS1 with the lightening deals, although both times I was in the wait list before I was able to buy them.It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
Up early - about to have breakfast!
Extra vol job this afternoon - sitting with the charity shop Xmas tree in a local church festival.
Must catch up this morning- and am hoping my parcel deliveries come early.
Catch up later - have a good day everyone.xJuly 16 £95/£200

Morning everyone.
I don't know where the week has gone. Flying wise I have managed quite a bit of the list.
Yesterday I gave the living room a good vacuum and pulled stuff out. Went for lunch and shopping with DD. Then to my voluntary work in A&E. It was a busy shift. A lady had taken ill coming in to visit her husband so spent some time passing messages between them. They were lovely.
I'm at my voluntary job today then DDs for tea.
Busy weekend as there is a book festival on in town. Going to see Ann Cleeves and Mari Hannah speak tomorrow then Val McDermid on Sunday.
Belated Happy Birthday to ionafan
Hugs, positive vibes and spoons where needed.
Will see what I can get done in the kitchen before I go to work.0 -
Morning all
Pilates for me first thing this morning. I'll have a look at the BF shopping online later and need a trip to Mr L.
Hopefully some flying will fit in somewhere today. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
 Morning all
No flying done this week beyond the dailies, but I have finally found a bit of GUAG and managed to make a start on the paper-/craftwork that has been covering the spare bed for months. Getting the logo done means that in my head I can finally get on. Things have been getting on top of me since the summer, and I need the spare bed back
Yesterday evening I went through the craft and Christmas boxes in the loft void, looking for fairy lights and a wire coat hanger! Found the first but not the second - will have to ask round the charity shops.
This morning is dedicated to taking my friend to hospital, though I'm planning to do the dailies and update and print out a few more bits of paperwork first. First stop: online banking.
