    what a fun thread

I'm putting my tree up on the 1st of December, although I've been itching to do it sooner! I've just this evening been dragging my sideboard across the room in order to make space for it! It's a 7ft artificial tree that I ot in the January sales earlier this year, and I've been dying for christmas to arrive so I can finally use it!:j

  • My tree is going up tomorrow ...First Sunday in Advent....and will come down for 12th Night.

It is a small, table-top tree, no lights but wood and straw decorations. I have a lovely straw star to go on top.

my main one went up today, its twinkling away in the living room as we speak :D.

I'm undecided about whether i'll put up the smaller one in the hall - i may have a play about with that tomorrow.
  • Normally, my parents or parents in law take my husband and I to get a real tree about a week or so before Christmas (neither of us drive, so our parents are good enough to take us), but due to having a few very busy weekends in December, coupled with the difficulty of getting a decent real tree that close to Christmas in recent years, we'll probably be getting ours on Monday or Tuesday 1st or 2nd December, as I have a couple of days off.

I have just finished putting ours up :) The boys did a grand job, it looks lovely.
  • As the rest of the family are in hurry for the decs to go up I am thinking of leaving it till Christmas Eve. Although we do have a tree in the attic, I may go and buy a real one - I expect heavily reduced by then?

Mine went up yesterday ... because I could. I love sitting in the darkened room in the evening with the lights on. I was bought this tree last year by two MSErs .... but before that I'd not had one since 2006 as I've been moving around and couldn't accumulate stuff/clutter.... so I'm really milking the opportunity this year.

Put mine up Friday evening :D I'm going to go and put the lights on again now, and sample a bit of my sloe gin. Just to test it, you understand.

I've seen real trees being sold already, surely if you put up one of those now it would be all bald and dead by Christmas?
  • Well I think this year was the first time we put ours up when it was still November (but my excuse is that Homebase were doing 15% off everything so we had to get it early to save a bit of cash!). Haven't really put any other bits up get, just browsing the web for some snowflake window stickers and saw on this page you can even get them to cover your car!!

Not sure I would go that far but would make me smile if I saw that driving around!
