The only UK updates i see are Vodafone UK and CPW models .
If their is an official release then the path is always .
Samsung to phone vendor who pass the update or not to OTA and Kies . If it does not show then vendor has not released the firmware or phones firmware is reporting the wrong build to Kies .
Link to this i know its upgradable in the UK ??0 -

Well - I bought the phone from EE and am now THREE - So how does that work ?
Also the actual file DOES download - almost 1Gb of data - but it is what the phone does with the data that fails !!0 -
Go back to the vendors support site and see if they can update .
Rooting has nothing to with updates and will not give you an update .0 -
This got me thinking...
I assume that Google now has access to billions of pieces of (supposedly secure) data - data that many people would prefer not to be publically revealed - not only passwords (WiFi - which will be backed up) as well as Email !!
Think about it - Would you trust Google to hold on to such data - not encrypted ?
Before anyone asks - is it encrypted ?
According to Tomsguide - no it is not - which to me - means that it is held in "plain text" which anyone could access ....
If you don't trust Google, set up your own caldav / carddav server like OwnCloud and sync your contacts and calendars to it. I moved all my data away from Google a while ago...0 -
Are you saying now Samsung is the vendor not EE .
No - I guess that I bought the phone through EE (but if you check their website - the version 1 NOTE is hardly even mentioned anymore - let alone any updates offered) - EE will not even respond to any emails, either - understandably, because I am no longer a customer - so I am trying Samsung again !!0 -

Won't make any difference to the outcome
