I assume you mean commuting, which is not covered under a policy covering SDP only0 -

Unless I missed it, the OP want provided with the driver's details thus the matter must be formally reported to the police within 24 hours UNLESS the police are already aware of it. (as per sec Section 170(3) RTA)PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

It matters not anyway because a we don't know whether he was covered or not and b none of us know the circumstances of the third parties insurance.
More people take out an Social, Domestic & Pleasure only excluding Commuting policy now days than before as more companies offer it to enable them to get to the top of the comparison sites and a few Insurers have it as a default option last time I looked0 -
The driver of the Toyota celica crashed into my car which caused him to lose control crashing into the other 2 cars parked on the street. The owner of the 2 parked cars just happened to be outside when it happened.
The Toyota driver admits liability because I have right of way however he didn't give me his full details and he phoned his girlfriend and hes girlfriend arrived few mins later and she said its insured in her name. She just gave me her name, mob number, address details however she never gave me her insurance details cause she says the policy documents at home. she just said shes insured with churchill
Police turned up but by then they drove off however police gave me the copy of the log record and took my statement.
How do I claim without losing my no claims bonus?
Do I phone up Churchill and give them the reg number of the Toyota or do I phone up my insurance and they will do all the chasing for me.Unless I missed it, the OP want provided with the driver's details thus the matter must be formally reported to the police within 24 hours UNLESS the police are already aware of it. (as per sec Section 170(3) RTA)
Looks like you missed it.0 -
Update: I think its sorted now. Churchill said they will come and collect the car for repair plus courtesy car on Tuesday.0

In The Olden Days SDP covered commuting to work, as commuting was part of Domestic (domestic is earning money and spending it going to Tescos, taking kids to school etc. Or is it Social, as Unemployment Benefit used to be Social Security?).
Then "Commuting" became separate,
Then it became Commuting to a regular place of employment so you need Business cover if you are likely to go on a course or something.
Just ways to wheedle out of paying claims if you ask me, most people need to go to work, and would go in their car, yet if you work part -time, your policy is dearer, as you have more time to drive around in the day.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Under certain circumstances they don't have any legal obligation to deal with a third parties claim.
The uninsured driving using the vehicle for a use not covered is one of them.
You can be sure an Insurer will not pay out a claim under their RTA obligations for an uninsured driver if they're not legally obliged. In such circumstances the claim would be passed to the MIB as an uninsured driver claim which would take a long time to receive payment
This isn't an uninsuredvehicle0
