Hello,
Really need some help with this and also to let people know to avoid this company.
Ordered some bedroom furniture on the 23rd Sept 2014 from furnitureuk.co.uk and it stated 14 working days. This came and went so contacted them by email and was told their was a delay, this came and went without any contact from them.
I then asked for a refund on the 18th October 2014, I received an email stating their could not refund back to cards for security reasons and would need to sent me a cheque.
I have still not received a refund, and have contacted them quite a few time even sending them a recorded delivery letter which was returned back to me unopened.
I am now going through a section 75 with my credit card company.
Which seams to taking forever.
Thanks

Ah... ok. Just that you started with "Really need some help with this..."
There is a board specifically for warnings:0 -
Their terms and conditions are rather dodgy and contain several spelling mistakes

The CCR's also state that refunds must be made by the same method as payment, unless the consumer agrees otherwise. They are not allowed to refuse to refund to cards if they took payment by card.
Of course this assumes they are a UK company and subject to UK laws.0 -

From who is another address is given which leads you to this
Including a phone number

I doubt mark stubbles works for them- he's probably the marketing reference.0 -

FurnitureShopping.co.uk is also another
Website owned by Retailed Limited, registered at 4 Ockendon Road, Upminister, RM14 2DN. Company number: 08321066
( This address is offices of accounting book keeping service " total accounting and book keeping services limited"
Also " Taylor & co" book keepers
https://www.opencompany.co.uk/company/07636969/total-accounting-bookkeeping-services-limited)
It just so happens one of the directors of Taylor bookeeping / total accounting is also the director of retailed ltd..
From furnitureuks website
"
FurnitureUK.co.uk is a trading name for Retaile Limited. VAT: 157693662"
Naughty how they misspell retailed limited , and don't add the company number .
Is it possible they will fold the company shortly?0 -
Hi,
I posted on the Furniture UK (status) thread... I paid £ 159.99 for a chest of drawers that was described as "golden.. lacquered pine", but arrived as a dark grey-stained non-lacquered chest - a marked difference from the advertised photo. Plus the wooden joints had cracks & there were splinters etc.
At first they seemed like they would refund and asked me for photos, which I emailed & posted. Then there was no response whatsoever for 2 weeks.
But I was mega-annoyed about this and researched what I could on the firm plus I've collated a list of 63 complaints (and rising!) from review sites. I reported to AdviceGuide who said they'd inform Trading Standards. I contacted ActionFraud (maybe they'll be interested ?). And BBC Watchdog, Guardian Consumer Champions & Daily Mail thisismoney; - it would help them to investigate if more people email them....
And my credit card company. Plus I wrote a livid letter to the Manufacturer in Scotland. He actually emailed me and apologised, but of course my contract is with the retailer.
After all this, Furniture UK decided to email me denying receiving the photos I'd sent. Anyway, after me emailing again they agreed verbally to accept a return for a refund. But... yesterday the Courier didn't show up to collect (surprise surprise )
According to these reviews, Furnitureuk.co.uk send bouncing cheque refunds, fail to reply to communications, fob people off, give false delivery dates..... I'm really concerned . I'd advise people to report them to the media - it increases the chance of investigation...
But please avoid confusion, it's not a firm in Essex: I phoned "Joanne" in their customer services yesterday... The 0800 phone number on furnitureuk.co.uk didn't work, but TRADE PRICE FURNITURE (also of Unit 5, Pennington Close. W. Bromwich) - with a separate website - had a number, 0345 557 7930 - and it was answered "Hallo, Joanne speaking" (who had emailed me from Furniture UK). Today, weirdly, they've changed numbers - now the 0800 number's replaced by 0121 ... (Trade Price) and FurnitureUK has got the 0345 number !
FurnitureUK.co.uk, at this address is not a Ltd company, but shares the same address as Trade Price Furniture Ltd (directors M. Faisal & T. Mugadzaweta) whose website gives an address, Unit 5 Pennington Close, West Bromwich B70 8BA. (Although in the small print of the T.P. Furniture website it says B70 8BG - really fishy)
And my credit card statement gives the postcode WV14 7HZ, (as you mentioned Hollydays) which is also linked to those directors above if you google. Hollydays, you reckon it might be their warehouse. Maybe, or an older address ? They are linked to TMF logistics which is also at Pennington Close B70, and some customers said that FurnitureUK used TMF.
Anyway excuse the long post ! I'd be grateful for advice too. My credit card said they'd pursue a "chargeback" to recover funds, but then told me to return the goods if requested. Would it weaken my chances of a full refund if Furn.UK offer me some lesser settlement ?0
