Anyone have any idea about (or recent experience with) a company with the web address: furnitureuk.co.uk ? A relative ordered & paid (by Credit Card thank goodness) for a large item from them in September, and was told the delivery would be in November.
Since then, for a month now, they do not reply to messages sent from their own website, emails, telephone calls or a letter. Zilch.
I have found two review sites with good reviews on them. However, one site has every review on them suspended while they investigate and the other site has lots of recent reviews with similar complaints to mine. In addition, the most recent review warns that the company is in liquidation (source quoted: Companies House website) although still trading (via the website). Also claims this review site's admins are checking good reviews as possibly bogus.
The furnitureUK website gives this address:
Unit 5
Pennington Close
West Bromwich
Birmingham
B70 8BA
while the Companies House "in liquidation" company is:
Name & Registered Office:
FURNITURE UK LIMITED
311 HIGH ROAD
LOUGHTON
ESSEX
IG10 1AH
Company No. 07006976
Could be 2 different companies I guess. As I'm trying to put info together for a CCA section 75 claim to the credit card provider, any extra info would be useful. And possibly this might be useful for others to warn them.

Hi there,
I've been trying to get a response from this firm, after buying a defective and misdescribed chest of drawers.
At first, I spoke to a woman in customer services who told me to email photos showing the problem, implying that they would then deal with it. But, after emailing I got no reply. So I've written blistering letters to the firm and directors - and not a whiff of a reply !
The company check website lists the directors of Trade Price Furniture Ltd (which is at the same address - Unit 5 Pennington Close) as M. Faisal & T. Mugadzaweta. They also run TMF Logistics Ltd nearby.
Bewilderingly, my credit card statement lists furnitureuk.co.uk as WV14 7HZ - an address in Bilston, but I don't think they are trading from here.
My credit card is sending a "dispute resolution form", but I wonder if this will have any effect.....
By the way, that review website you mentioned, reviews.co.uk - if you click on the x in the top r.h. side - the masked review details are revealed ! And there are a considerable number of similar awful customer experiences.
I wonder if we could get BBC Watchdog interested....?

Many thanks for that information. From it, it looks like the company in liquidation I mentioned is a different one. A pity in a way since that might have made it easier to get a refund from the CC provider.
The 2nd director you mention is registered at a Bilston address which matches that postcode you gave:
TENDAYIISHE MUGADZAWETA
Director No.: 91606685
Registered Address: Unit 5d Stag Industrial Estate, Oxford Street, Bilston, United Kingdom, WV14 7HZ

Hallo again,
I wondered if you have had any luck with delivery of your furniture...?
My credit card company gave me forms to fill which I returned. They seem helpful.... I also reported the matter to Adviceguide (Citizens Advice) and... :T they say they will inform trading standards.
Coincidentally (?!) I got an email today from Furniture UK saying that they had not received any emails from me ! I think someone has gee'd them up.... but it feels so unpleasant dealing with such a firm.

We also got an email from them. Saying that the item would be available in 5-7 weeks. Clearly stalling as a result of credit card companies starting to pester them.
We have also had a letter returned marked something like "no longer at this address" or "gone away" (sorry I haven't seen it, just going by verbal report). So if Royal Mail can't deliver to them any more they have a cheek using the Pennington Close address in the email.
We asked for a refund by return email. I expect the next stage will be the credit card company saying: furnitureuk have promised to contact you concerning this problem. Then we'll have to just keep insisting that we get a refund.0 -

It appears that this is unit 5 Pennington close- also known as tmf house

See part of this review "Ordered Chelsea bedside cabinet & 6 draw chest online. Paid in full on 25th July and website stated 5-10 working days for delivery. After 2 weeks rang customer services, told to await delivery instuctions etc etc, rang and emailed almost every day to be fobbed off. It wouldn't fit on the van? it was a failed collection? it was a failed delivery (although no courier card through our door whilst we were at work unaware that it was coming..it never did that day!) Finally after 7 weeks the items arrived, no notice and were left by the bin. All three boxes were mangled, had masking tape to reseal them and had bright yellow stickers on saying 'damaged'! Contacted Furniture UK to request replacements... to be told to send photo;s.. Did this and still heard nothing for a further few days. Asked for some form of compensation, offered £10 still waiting... Eventually, we rang trading standards and on advice threatened legal action, although this didn't work. Told by the manager 'Sophie' that this was the first she had heard about our case?? We have since waited another 7 weeks, been given various delivery dates, and told that a new courier service would collect our replacement items (forgot to say that the originals were seriously chipped on the end panels ) from London. Finally, I will bring this to a close now as I am bored myself!! our date for delivery was this week. Rang TMF logistics, who said they had tried to collect our items, along with lots of other Furniture UK orders from the supplier Ideal Furniture. The reason nothing is being released from Ideal furniture is that Furniture UK have not paid for any of their orders!! Funny that prices have gone up on the website.... We have decided to assemble my poor son's bedroom furniture and touch it up with marker pen, as he has waited so long! We are not hopeful of the replacements ever arriving, and are taking this to the small claims court. I feel stupid for ordering online from these cowboys, but the chest was the width we wanted. I want to warn anyone thinking of ordering from these people DONT because they are CHEATING LIARS !!!!!!!!!!!!! Angry mum Deb 29th Oct 2014"
However it looks like tmf are now heading another company selling furniture with a the same type of website... Tmf logistics are on Facebook.. Hint.. Why not post some questions on there? Perhaps they could confirm furnitureuks correct contact details as they seem to be fronting their other website?0 -

As far as I can see furniture uk limited of Loughton Essex are not connected.

So to sum up you need to contact the director of retailed limited to confirm addresses to send correspondence to, eg for anyone who is having to take them to court, as they seem to be rather devious at hiding their contact info but a chargeback if you paid by card is the easy way to get your money back.
Keep aneye on companies house details for retailed limited and or Google "retailed limited Company number 08321066 london gazette" from time to,time to show any intention for them to declare insolvency and to get to find out quicker.0 -
