What is your oldest appliance still in use?

I have a reel to reel tape recorder from 1964, which I part exchanged my bike for when I was 15.
Used it to record 'Ready Steady Go!' and similar stuff, so I have some interesting live material.
I also have tapes from rehearsals and live gigs of two bands I was in. They're truly awful. No rose-tinted specs here! :rotfl:0 -
I bought the (future) wife a radio/cassette player before we were married, which was 1976.
We bought all new kitchen appliances in 1991. Well I say new, they were re-worked returns I got cheap as I worked for Hotpoint at the time. The tumble dryer & dishwasher are still fine.
My best friend & I are having a competition, his dishwasher is the same as mine but a year newer. I keep telling him off for not looking after it properly, he says it'll last longer than mine. We'll see....Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0 -
Cooker still going strong which was purchased in the late 80s. It has gone a little rusty at bottom of storage drawer which does not show as it is a dark colour.
I keep saying I want a new one but have not seen one so solidly built. Hate the tiny gas rings on new free standing cookers. As there is only 2 of us now I might decide to get a combi microwave instead.
I have one remaining sheet perfectly as new given to me 38 years ago.0 -

My hubby bought me a radio/cassette when we bought our first house. We did the house up before we married and moved in this was 1968. He's still got the radio and uses it in his workshop now.
I'll have to go and check which make it is.
The other is a fridge/freezer that's about 24 years old (Goldstar Fresca).0 -
Mine is my Boots handmixer bought in 1979, which is used on a very regular basis and is still going strong.0

My mum and dad cook on their Aga (installed in 1950).... My dad fills it twice a day with coke/coal... it heats all the hot water for the house too. My dad remembers it arriving in the house when he was a nipper!!
I use a Kenwood Chef (bought by my dad as an engagement present for my mum in 1969) It has all the attachments ( I have never used the mincer...lolSlimming world new starter 2/1/17

Small appliances are my kettle and toaster. 8 years and still work perfectly fine.
Bigger appliance would be my cooker. 7 years and still going.0 -
Belling Compact 3 free standing cooker from the early 1960's. Was given to me 23 years ago and has been in daily use since then.
SPCome on people, it's not difficult: lose means to be unable to find, loose means not being fixed in place. So if you have a hole in your pocket you might lose your loose change.0 -
My parents have a Hitachi Microwave that is at least 25 years old (possibly a bit more) and still going strong. It's the first one they bought and I'm so impressed that it works. I'm on my third microwave in the last 10 years!0

Not exactly an appliance, depending on your point of view, but my hairdryer which I've had for over 30 years and is used almost daily.0
