I know I could google it but it's late...

Does anyone know what the entitlement is when someone dies? Date of death is 24th October, I know pensions and Attendance Allowance will have to be repaid when DWP finally gets round to asking for it, but if the WFA hits the bank account will that be clawed back too?
Signature removed for peace of mind
  • Good morning.. My father died 10th October a couple of years ago and his estate still received the payment, I believe the cut of date is sometime in September.
Seemed wrong to me but thats what happened.

Qualifying week is the third week in September so if they were alive at that point and entitled to the payment then it is still payable it will be paid to next of kin :)

I haven't received mine yet and I will be pleased to get it. I am feeling the cold already and have the heating up higher than usual for this time of year. My husband also says he is feeling the cold more since he lost a lot of weight in recent months. So, although we are in credit at the moment with the electricity company, I doubt it will stay that way. I have also recently spent money on nice fleece throws for the bed and sofa and a lovely warm dressing gown so, all in all, I am grateful to have this money to help out.

My son put me a multi fuel burner in 3 yrs ago and up to now we have managed to source free wood ( just bought 12 bags of Smokeless Fuel though to mix it up ) , have the heating coming on for an hour in the morning at 6.30am then an hour at night at 9.00pm .
Can usually manage in the house without heating in the day time but when it drops below 16c in the living room I light the fire about 3pm .
