  • Some sort of flu type bug has struck me down so OH had to nip to the shops yesterday, he spent £30, a large chunk of that was on cat food!

We have enough in, just need to get a few freezer bits but should be ok for a while. I would love to get back on ordering boxes of organic fruit and veg as it worked out quite well, maybe in the new year.

I'll update my signature to show new spends. Halfway though the week...woo hoo! :)

Spent £27.64 today but am only including £7.64 as actual money spent as I had a £20 voucher to use up.
Spends are now at £134.93 so there should be plenty left to do the last of the Christmas food on Tuesday. Mainly fresh stuff to get.
Will be taking Mum to Te$co on Friday and anything else she needs we will pick up for her on Tuesday.
Going to spend an hour tonight wrapping up once I find the labels to write on, I brought some in the sales in Jan and up to yet cant find where I put them!!!
    MARCH £62.38/250

Sorry everyone, I've been a bit rubbish posting this month. I started a new job last week and I've been rushing about all over the place!

In terms of our own budget of £450, I have long since bust it - and don't even get me started on the £80 Tesco delivery of yesterday which consisted mainly of drinks and nibbles for a house party tonight, subsequently cancelled as DS2 got sent home from school early today as he was vomiting :(((

We have everything we need for Christmas week, barring milk and veg. DH gets paid on 22nd as opposed to 25th this month, so only another few days until a new budget!!

Thanks to all those who commented about my bubble and squeak question. Much appreciated. Said B&S is in the freezer for when it's needed.

    Have a great evening everyone

Well - only a week to go now eh :j

Congrats Coxy on new job and hope it going well. Shame about your DS being poorly and hope soon better.

Healing vibes for anyone else feeling unwell in the festive season.

Another NSD today and hopefully for rest of week until Sunday.

Salmon portioned and in freezer (11 good portions for £12) :D

I am going to slow roast the lamb tomorrow with loads of garlic and rosemary - can't wait. Couldn't do it today as at work this afternoon and evening. Last shift this year :T

Hope you all have a thrilling Thursday

Have managef to get quite a few bargains to put in the freezer so should be able to get most of january's meat out of the freezer!

    year's food budget £1,920
  • Spent £11.18 today, which includes beer. YS finds were tomatoes, double cream, bread and mixed spice. I'm still wondering whether A*di made a mistake reducing the mixed spice to 9p.

I made Jack Monroe's vegetarian chilli last night, using a couple of chillies from the plant on the windowsill. I must have some tiny cracks in the skin of my fingers, because my fingers felt like they were on fire afterwards. I ended up clutching an iceblock from the freezer for most of the evening. The chilli was good though. Next time I chop chillies, I'm wearing plastic gloves.
