I spent £2.47 today to buy a bargain 2k bag of potatoes in Tesco for 49p! Tomatoes, cucumber & mayo. We're having jackets with tuna mayo tonight plus that gives me lots of potatoes for the rest of the week. That's not YS just the price at the moment. Grab it if you can.
7 days to go now so we will definately make it to end of the challenge. I'm shocked at how little I've spent this month. I'm in the same boat as you WantToBeSE our fruit bowl is empty and fridge looks bare but I tend to buy what we need each day or every 2 days so we no longer have lots around at any one time. I get fed up with the snack harassment but I know my family have enough to eat we just don't have cupboard full of junk food. So that not a bad thing I suppose." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Does anyone else have a more emotional connection to food/shopping/having full cupboards? Or am I the only weirdo?
I am the same as you I get a little panicky if my cupboards start to look empty. It's totally irrational I know but I can't seem to stop buying. I feel like I need to have full cupboards or I am failing somehow. In the new year I am really going to be very careful what I buy and use up what I have in my pantry. I am so bad I even have tinned and dry food up the loft "just in case"

There's just me and OH. Do we include laundry detergents, cleaning materials, toilet rolls etc in our totals or is it just food and drink (us and cat) please?
There is just me and DH and that's what we do. Personal spends, alcohol and entertainment are in different budgets for us. hth
Did a bit of shopping today -
Morrys = £26.92
Mr T = £14.95
A*di = £11.61
So total of £55.48 but half of that was a whole leg of lamb (I'll cook a roast and then portion and freeze the rest) and a side of salmon (I'll portion and freeze).
Also plenty of cheese, fruit, veggies, salad and milk so should last until weekend I hope
Have a great Wednesday

NSD Nr. 9 - I completed my first 3 in a row challenge yesterday.
Today something is due on ebay and I don't want to lie, I hope I get it as it's a treat for myself - not for anyone else, lol.
I have a good lot in the freezer and cupboards but will need to get a good haul of veg during the weekend. Quite pleased with my spend this month so far.First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0 -
Looking at the budget for next year I think my shopping & personal spends will be a max of £411 per 4 weeks. That's food for 2 adults, a child & a cat & will include my personal money (I don't smoke or drink & usually make my own lunches but do wear make up that costs approx. £150 a year, so will need to account for that)
SO.. that works out at £95 per week. I want to keep £20 pw to go towards OH Asian food shop which we usually do every 2 months & spend approx. £130. on rice & cooking sauces. £5pw for Costco bulk buy of loo roll, kitchen roll & surface cleaners. and £20 for myself to cover ds mcdonalds on Saturday, my make up & any other expenses I have. That leaves £50pw for food. Perfectly doable, as I have discovered this month by trial running it & with a few minor adjustments have gone from £80 to just under £50 spent each week.I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.
