Nice choice of clothes for a 13 girl

I wonder if you can give me some inspiration.

I have a 13 year old niece who I always buy nice clothes for Christmas.

I have always purchased from Boden or Joules. But Joules don't go to her size now, and I am not inspired by anything in Boden.

I have looked in Fat Face and can't see anything I like for her.

Can anyone recommend any other nice clothes shops for 13 year olds?

Thanks

  • what sort of size is she?
is she punky? goth? trendy? hippy? what kinds of clothes does she like? what kinds of things are you looking to get her?
how much are you looking to spend?
The only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 5
  • New Look, Topshop and Miss Selfridge are the first three that spring to mind.
  • How about Joe Browns?

If she is wearing adult sizes now you might have lots of choice.

  • Depends on what style she likes. But I promise you, not many 13yr old girls are into Joules and Boden!! I would have DIED if I had to wear their stuff at that age :D

Really, at her age she is learning to develop her own sense of style - so unless you know exactly what she likes, you MAY have to accept that it'll be Topshop, Miss Selfridge or similar vouchers now rather than you choosing her clothes

Or perhaps take her out for a shopping trip and then let her choose - tell her the budget and get some lunch whilst you're out... girly day :)
Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?

I have to agree with that, those shops are not really the place for fashionable teenage clothes.
  • Tammy or Top Shop would have been my daughters choices.

You need to know what types of clothes she likes wearing.

At 13 my DD was seriously into Surfy hoodies, so Animal, Roxy etc. She was also a huge New Look & Miss Selfridge fan. Miss S quite expensive for fashion clothes that are quickly out of date and fit! New Look very reasonable, especially when they have 20% off deals. Register on line and they may send you a voucher.

Most shops now start at size 6 and have petite ranges if she is a small 13 year old.

Not a fan of New Look jeans but Miss Selfridge wash well but generally come up on the small side.

  • At age 13 my daughter loved clothes from new look, top shop and even Primark!

If we were buying labels then I would go for animal or superdry.

Girls of 13-16 yrs old don't usually go for quality, normally quantity! Therefore they pick highstreet stores.

I think New a look have a 25% off offer on ATM.

I love their jeans! I find they fit me the best.
