I've heard a lot of bad reviews on the switching process with this bank. The offer incentive ends at the end of October. Would it be too late to start now? What's the fastest and reliable way to open an account? Visit a branch?

But did your TSB account ever have a debit card on it. If it didn't, the situation is different from claire07's.

No it didn't. Maybe that's why.

I thought it was to end by the end of February 2015

Anyone else hit a brick wall with this? I called, applied on the phone, approved, paperwork was to be sent...weeks later I called again agent said the initial call handler forgot to progress my account and she would have the documents sent out to me...Another 2 weeks+ I've heard nothing from Clydesdale...

their Customer Service is dire. some have been saying on another forum that it is much better in-branch, and recommending visiting them if possible...but i have found them to be desperately poor in-branch too:doh:
  • I have received my cashback (Clydesdale Direct 2% Account), but I asked 3 weeks ago for a chequebook and have heard nothing back.

This account will be the next sacrifice for a cashback switch I think.

Any advice as to how to get a call back to open an account. Can't believe "any time" isn't an option. Put Saturday 9-1 in earlier this morning but no call. Now trying Saturday 1-5. When will they try again if they don't manage to call me? Before next Saturday hopefully.

I rang 0845 602 6198, got through straight away & said I wanted to switch but didn't want to pay for a long call. The guy offered to call me straight back & that's exactly what he did.

He asked me if I wanted to switch to Yorkshire OR Clydesdale & I assume from that question that he could do either (I picked Yorkshire). Credit check done & hopefully my pack is in the post

Has anyone else switched without having a debit card number as requested on the forms.

I am switching an old Flex Direct which I had left dormant and unfortunately I cut up the debit card and can't find any record of the number.

I don't want to risk any delay by requesting a replacement from Nationwide if I don't actually need it!

It won't be much of a delay, it only took Nationwide 2 days to get the new card & pin to me. I'm not so quick to chop things up now! :T

I have an appt in branch to switch, and I'm going to try for 2 accounts. What are my chances? I was thinking of asking for a basic account for "spending money" and a current account for "bills". Does this sound ok to you peoples who have already been throgh this process? Should I try for 3 accounts?
