Yorkshire & Clydesdale Banks offering £150 for switching

Question on the switching experience with YB - my new current account with YB has been fully up and running since last week; I submitted my switch form when I returned the original paperwork and put down a switch date of 6/2 (this Friday).
When I was on the phone to YB last week about something else I asked about the switch and was assured that they had it recorded in their system for this Friday.
During my previous switching experience (Nationwide to Halifax) there was plenty of communication from both leaving as well as receiving bank.
I haven't had anything in writing (or email/text alerts) from YB or the bank I'm switching away from (BoS) - should I get worried at this stage?
thanks0 -

No - my letter from YB saying my switch had begun arrived after the switch had completed...0 -
Yb are terrible at communicating. Don't worry.0

Thanks MartyM8 and LplateSaver. I dont have a job, just casual work as an invigilator. I'll try going in to the Piccadilly branch as live in London and ask them about the account you suggested.0

I would recommend you call the Piccadilly branch before hand to book an appointment with one of their banking advisors - the counter/reception staff won't be able to help you if you just turn up and you will just have a wasted journey otherwise.
Given the current offer I expect the London branch is block booked for seeing a banking advisor - so you really are best booking in advance as it may be days or a week before they have a free slot. This isn't an issue in their other branches - but for Piccadilly (the only branch in the capital/south east) it will be.
Alternatively you can call the Yorkshire's freephone number to open an account by post - it may be quicker than trying to get an appt if you are in London. The number is 0800 20 21 22.
Good luck!0 -
I've been impressed (so far) with the Yorkshire switching process. I got my paperwork today, faster than I thought they'd manage, looked a bit hefty at first but short & simple to complete. They have a branch in Northampton, not SO far from me as London for a Clydesdale (should the unlikely need arise to visit).
I've scheduled my switch for 03/03 to get 1 more month interest out of FlexDirect, hopefully cash incentive won't take long to arrive, I plan to buzz off to Halifax for £100 if possible. Bummer that I can't have First Direct as we had an a/c a few years ago.Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.0 -

There is a £100.00 M&S gift card for switching to M&S Bank.

Have another look at the t&c's I'm sure you need to switch within a certain amount of time..

"The full switch must be completed within 21 days of the date you signed the agreement" so if they sign it now they'll be too early it would be safer to sign it after the 10th but before deadline of the the 28th Feb wouldn't it?0 -
