The 28th Feb is the date by which you must apply to switch, not the date that you must have switched by.

I didn't say SevenofNine's account needed to be switched by the 28th February. I said it would be too early to sign the switch agreement now for a switch he wants on the 3rd March and that it would be safer to sign the agreement after the 10th Feb but obviously not forgetting the signing deadline of the 28th..

  • Just finished a load of paperwork!! (well 3 switches) so far, and looking for 1 more.

Has anyone had different experiences from YB and Clydesdale?

With the Clydesdale Bank - I chose my own Switch date and have now sent it off.

With Yorkshire Bank, the Gent I spoke to told me to leave the form blank, and even wrote (in pencil) 'leave' on the switching date field. As well as highlighting all of the parts I need to sign.

And it's my understanding they will ring me back and we will sort out a Switch date.

Any one else had this different approach of setting the Switch date?

Just a little concerned that they maybe trying to weasel out of the whole cash incentive thing by delaying the switching process.

Yorkshire said the same thing to my OH. They rang him today but he missed the call, the voicemail just said they were confirming the switch had started. He posted his switch agreement back 6 days ago. Yorkshire have been a lot quicker than Clydesdale for him.

Ahh, always good to hear of someone else experiencing the same!

nothing to worry about then ;)

I'll be keeping a keen eye on the calendar, and will check up in a week or so.

    Cheers for the reply.

For the first two...yb put a date of 3 weeks in advance, which was agreed on the phone. Both switched successfully. One incentive received so far...

For the other two, it wasn't mentioned on the call, so I put in a date of 2 weeks in advance of me signing the paper work and sending it back.

    Hope that helps...

I just gave YB a quick call - advisor I spoke to suggested 2 weeks as well, (so 17th February) she advised me to fill in the 'blanks' as well, seeing as it should speed up the process.

    We will wait and see.

It's an annoying process and seems ancient compared to a few other banks, but alas it should be worth it, once accounts are all set up:D

You're welcome. We've had a good experience, we've yet to be lucky enough to reach the person who offers to open up more than one account in one call :rotfl: but one can only dream.

Can anybody with multiple accounts open confirm if you need a Security Token for each account for the online banking? Or does the one token cover all the accounts?

Thanks. It is signed 12 Feb & I'll be posting it on 11th, should be plenty of time to get there by 28th and comply with the 21 day full switching deadline.
Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.
