Why not use the account if you have £1k in there given you have a debit card – I have been using it for my shopping, paying a credit card bill, buying travel tickets and making cash withdrawals. And the balance is earning 2% instant access – which would be a market leader for a savings account.
Because the interest rate of 2% is far too low. My £1k will be earning between 3 and 6% when I repatriate it.

I've had my YB Direct open since December just waiting for my switch incentive.

I called YB and opened a Plus account which was easier than opening my Direct as they had all the details. Plus they font credit check you if you don't want an OD as long as you have an existing account.

I didn't oprn a third one over the phone .. But probably call back Monday.
If I've help in anyway, please remember to thank me :-)

Just opened a Plus a/c with Clydesdate sweet as a nut.

Existing Clydesdale Direct and Yorkshire Plus. There doesnt seem to be any limit to the amount you can open (andno Qs this time as to why)
  • Did I imagine it, or with the changes in T&Cs did it become OK for existing customers to do a switch to a CA Direct that has been used efficiently for ages by crediting the monthly £1K? I can't find anything on it now!
I'm beginning to run out of accounts to switch now as I haven't done the M&S yet! Incidentally, is there anywhere offering extra via Quidco/MSE or similar for M&S?

No; existing accounts qualify if they had not been credited with an average of £1000 per month in the 6 months prior to 17th November 2014 or since the account was opened.

Nothing extra for M&S other than the £100 giftcard and 6% regular saver as far as I'm aware (even the £50 giftcard for opening a premium account has now disappeared).

Running out of accounts to switch from....

Which banks offer to open new current accounts, easily, quickly and straightforwardly?

I have searched on these boards but the answer is hard to find...

Thanks in advance for any information

If you have been crediting £1k then no you cannot switch to that, though I understand their T&Cs say you can open a new account instead to switch to.

I've opened 4 Nationwide Flex/&Direct a/c recently. They don't seem to have a problem with it.
