Perhaps some people consider other factors to be more important than incentives.
Maybe so, but they're unlikely to be asking for advice/clarification on multiple applications on a thread exclusively about a £150 switching incentive now are they?

I've deleted my posts (and giving a reason) helping you get to grips with it. If you'd like to do the same (with my last one you've quoted above) you could help other MSE members who may want to go for this offer.

I find it strange how you delete posts to 'protect' the offer, yet you are posting stuff like this.
See my post made whilst you were adding this edit.

I've done it several times in this thread (and my PM box has been swamped because of it...so much so that I've left it full deliberately for the time being), and I've done it to try and help people like yourself who were struggling with the T&Cs.

No-one else I've helped has quoted me, and that's why I asked you above to delete the quote...so other members may benefit from a prolonging of the offer and not suffer any re-wording of the T&Cs.

I'll say thanks in advance, but if you don't it's not me who'll suffer...but others who are/were late to the party.

When opening the account by phone how do they allocate at which branch the account is based? Can you pick which branch at which the account will be based?

I thought they'd written the offer T&Cs very well, but you may have found a loophole. You can't open Current Account Direct accounts with both though (see the existing general conditions)...it's max 2 accounts, one of which must be a joint. Why will it? Simply open more accounts with Halifax (or anyone else for that matter) and switch these instead.

Nothing I can see in the T&Cs to stop you opening with one, closing it then opening with the other? Or am I missing something?

Update on my account switch: Finally got a call from the Branch Manager confirming that my switch would take place on the 20th. This was after I had to go into the branch again over the weekend to open another account as the previous account I opened was closed. The error was indeed the address as I suspected.

On the plus side, I was well compensated for all my hassle and distress by the complaints guy who handled my case. Excellent individual. He even called again today to make sure that everything was fully sorted. They are also taking off the previous credit search from my records, so all is well with the world. :)
£47605.33 outstanding in C.C (£8000 Interest free till January 2025)

Did you leave £1000 there until you got your incentive or you took the £1000 out on same/next day?

I'm tempted to take out my £1000 out and put it to good use.
