May be a possible negative from applying for several current accounts recently, have just received an unsolicited offer from Vanquis Bank for a credit card that I have been 'pre-selected' for with an APR of 39.9%.

Obviously SOMEONE has sold on my details to SOMEONE, not saying its YB, could be other banks, credit reference agencies
I believe quite a few credit providers sell on details to sub-prime lenders.

I know one of my friends, let's call him John Smith, got turned down for a credit card a while back, then kept getting junk mail from Aqua and Vanquis, addressed to John Smiht. The misspelling was the reason he was turned down, as when he resubmitted the application an hour later with the right spelling, he passed.

Similar business model with Three mobile (minus the selling on of data) - if you apply for a contract on their website and get declined, you're presented with a link to creditexpert.co.uk/three, which is an affiliated link with a kickback to them if you sign up.

Once I received the last of my incentives, I have no need for any of these accounts. So is it a simple message via online banking asking to close all xx?

What are other folk going to do with theirs?

Ps I have 2 other donor accounts elsewhere...

    Thank you for reading this.

keep them all with £1 in. You never know when you might need a/c's for another 'offer'

Also, why not just keep them open until they sell/float, etc?

They've given us £150 for every account to show on their books..seems a small favour in return!

Clydesdale fined £20m for mishandling PPI claims http://fca.org.uk/news/clydesdale-bank-fined-for-serious-failings-in-ppi-complaint-handling

Should re-assure us that they won't be mishandling anything else in a hurry

Is the usual 35 day wait to receive the incentive dated from the day of the switch or the day the account is funded with £1,000?

I funded mine after the switch but its 35 days today from the switch day, nothing yet!

Its normally 35 days from the switch – but I normally pay my £1k in the next day so it could be 34 days from the switch and £1k payment.:D

They normally don’t post the £150 until late afternoon in my experience – not in the morning.

It has been 35 days since my switch too. As I remember from my previous £150, the payment credited after 4pm on the 33rd day. Somebody posted on here last week to say their 3rd March switch date resulted in a payment on 8th April. My switch was 10th March so I am hoping my payment will be made today (or tomorrow) after 4pm.

Afternoon all - just posting to say that my first switch incentive has been received today - I checked about an hour ago and nothing, then read the above post mentioning it usually being credited after 4pm and decided to check again and there it was! :rotfl:

    Switch date was 12/03/15
£1000 was credited in several smaller amounts but reached on 16/03/15
    Paid £150: 14/04/15

I make that 32 days from switch date but 28 days from £1000 fully deposited. Still waiting for 2 more
