Yorkshire & Clydesdale Banks offering £150 for switching

Just made the journey to the closest branch and successfully switched 2 accounts after no joy getting past verification via phone.
The lady I saw said although I was switching 2 accounts I'd only get one lot of £150, she checked with the bank manager first. I didn't argue with her and will just transfer £1000 to both in case she's wrong. She said the offer was only available on the first account switched, do you think they will still credit both?:huh:0 -

They said that when I went to branch too (checked with manager). However I received more than one0 -

The terms and conditions for the incentive are what matter – and there is no per person limit set out there. If you open a new account and switch and pay in £1k – you qualify.
Most other banks incentive terms limit you to one incentive – the CB/YB ones do not. The only restriction is for a joint account - where you only get one £150 not one per account holder

Although check what you sign in branch of course!:D0 -
As its not a condition of acceptance to either pay in ones salary nor bring over any Direct Debits from the switched account to the new YB account I'm surprised they were pushing me to do so. If its so important why don't they make it a stipulation?
Guess that's why in spite of me answering that I would not be paying a salary into the new account nor transferring any DD's I was still successful?! Although I was made to feel like a heel for not complying.
Hope the paperwork arrives soon, I applied yesterday and I'm not counting on them NOT changing the T&C after 28th February if the offer is extended by a month so want to get it signed before then.
Is there an average of the wait for the paperwork to arrive before I politely remind them I'm waiting?!0 -

The branch made a lot of fuss over direct debits during my branch appointment this week. Apparently they 'expect' you to switch over at least 2 direct debits. If the offer is extended I wouldn't be surprised to see that appear as a new condition.
I chased up my pack that still hasn't arrived from 2 weeks ago and received one today for an account that was opened in December!0 -
Just opened 2nd today0

Opened three accounts on the phone today to go with the one I opened in branch last week. The guy had me answer all my details again even though he said he had all my details on computer - like my work place/ job title/ salary etc. Took forever. Then he grilled me on why I needed 3 accounts and took details of those. Geez
I hope I get a nicer rep when I ring to do another one tomorrow!!0 -
I've opened my first account with them today and was told it had to be referred. I then called up again to switch over another account and they were quite insistent on me waiting until the first account was accepted.
As the deadline is the 28th February, I'd rather get everything switched over asap. Is there any difference between waiting until Wednesday to transfer another account (when I was told I'd be contacted over the decision) or just doing it now? I know people have said the referrals are random but I haven't read anyone saying that their first account was referred and then trying to open another one.0 -

Referrals aren't random, they are the result of credit checks. When they put your application through a credit check, it churns out either an approve, a decline or a refer. If the latter then it will be referred to the underwriters who will manually take a look at your application and credit file to see if it all matches up and is acceptable.
It's no good putting in any more applications until you get that decision as they'll also be referred. In my experience the problem is actually finding out the decision as they often don't phone back.0 -

Cheers for that. How long should I leave it before I call to find out? The guy said 3 business days (ie by Wednesday) but if there's a chance it might be earlier then that would be better for me.0
