Just been out to see a film with OH. They have revamped the cinema since we last went. But can't tell you when they did it as it has been at least 2 years since we last went. We saw the imitation game. I was a little dubious but a great film about the guy who broke the enigma code during the war. Would definitely recommend.

Anyway, just popping on to say I finished all the bathrooms and put an extra load of washing on. So will be ready to do Thursday and Friday lists tomorrow.

    Wash kids bedding
    Wm x 1
    Unload and load dw
    Ds2 swimming
    Tidy up hallway
    Mop hall floor

Thursday - Bedrooms and be kind to yourself day
    Change your bed
Hoover as much of upstairs as you can
Tidying up always makes it look better
    Wipe two flat surfaces
Wipe all the doors, tops and sides too

    Friday - Living Room Stairs
    15 minutes tidying up/clearing a hotspot
    Dust anywhere else in need
    Hoover the stairs
    Dust the mantle

That should keep me going tomorrow. Night all x

I do feel tired, but this conscious chirpy, stiff upper lip stuff really works ;)

Do you know, there is really something in that. It hasnt been an easy year for us with money worries and DS's health but I was shocked when a work colleague told me in a nice way that I have been moaning a lot. OK you cant go about with a big grin on your face constantly but there is something to be said for making a conscious effort to try and smile and be positive.

Hi Narco nice to see you back! So, paid stuff this morning, 2nd job to look at this afternoon. And the never ending challenge of trying to get some washing dry. Stewing beef in the fridge should really go in the sc - not sure what I am making it into though!

  • Morning everyone. Good to see you back Narco. Have missed your presence and gardening tips.

Just about to breakfast, after having cleaned shower whilst I was in it!!

Then my order of doing is
    finances
    phonecall
    hoover through - again.
    dust through
    washer on
    WUDUPA
Long walk - if it's fine! Yesterday's two did me good weight wise so need to keep that up until Tuesday.

Have a good day everyone - and sticks spoons and hugs wherever needed. x

PS sometimes the "constantly chirpy happy face" can be construed by others as "oh you are always alright so I'll leave you alone to manage" - I have the T shirt - it is just getting the balance right and it's not too easy!

  • hello narcolepsy I'm a newbie-ish, but finding this thread SO helpful. I also used to work in FE, HE now - much better!

I actually feel ALMOST HUMAN - 10 hours sleep has made a dent on my sleep deficit, although i am going to keep at it with the early nights!

1-day review on superdrug 'naturally radient hot cloth cleanser': lovely texture and smell, face feels very soft. Good so far! Also got day cream and night cream from the same range, and I'm impressed with that too. Have not tried the eye serum yet - using up the insy tinsy clinique sample my sister gave me. The range is buy-one-get-one-half=price at the moment.

Man coming to fix bathroom fan at 10am, so this morning list is:

    - Clean bathroom
    - Clean bathroom floor
    - Clear stairs so he can get up them!

    Hello to all
It is nice to see some new names and a couple from people coming back.

I have had so much support on here it has helped me get through to Friday.:)
It is DS1 birthday today. He is coming round at lunch time -we usually have take away for tea but I cant do big happy family thing at the moment( OH wanted to be there. He is still a good dad) We will do that another day I think.

I am also going to focus on the good things I keep telling myself -' think things will get better and they do'. I have written it down and carry it with me to keep reading.

Am having hair done after lunch -some colours put in and few bits of blond-bit scared and excited really. I have not changed my hair in years but now I can so I will! DS1's GF is taking me so better make a start and tidy up .

    Have great day
    love to all

Hi Sushistar yes I'm relieved I left FE when I did, just because I wanted to try freelance. Since then they have made loads of people redundant and done lots of seemingly odd restructuring.

1st student cancelled today before I left home so am I rushing around with the duster? Nope I'm on this forum. Hopeless but enjoyable and motivating when I get round to it.

Narco lovely to have you back.

Thanks and I'm so sorry to hear about your mum.
We never did make that garden centre meeting; maybe a pre or post Christmas hot chocolate there?

Aargh typed a long post yesterday and lost it:mad:

Wednesday went to pot as forgot the car was booked in for its mot and had not organised lifts.

Decided to kill two birds with one stone and took the dog with me, walked home with him and then back later. 2 x 45 minute walks. And the car passed so only a small spend.

Spent a lot of time on the phone to CC company sorting compensation as they had taken almost £8000 by direct debit, instead of £100:eek::eek::eek: they have refunded bank charges, their charges, paid for phone calls and given some compensation.

To de-stress after this had 30 minutes in front of the light box reading. I think it is working as had another good night's sleep and was up and at them yesterday.

    Usual dailies
    Hoovered throughout
    Dusted lounge, hall, landing, bedrooms
    1 hour ironing
Long walk with dog 1.5 hours
Made two apple crumbles and applie pie from gifted apples
Taught DH how to make chilli, using a jar but 'baby steps' and will progress onwards.
Fajitas for dinner, We made this together, I did the chopping, he cooked:j and then cleared up.
Christmas cards written in front of the light box
Bay of E checked - 4 items with bids, the rest all have watchers
Tesco shop with DH, was blimmin expensive but did include some Christmas pressies and goodies and lots of YS meat.

Today will do bathroom and en-suite
Wash load to go on airers
    HHI
    Wrap sold EBay items
    Wrap Christmas presents

    Have a good day all

OK so I am now officially motivated courtesy of flyladies. With my bit of extra time due to cancelled student, I have:

    - cleaned washbasin in en suite
    - made bed and picked up clothes from floor AND put them away
    - remembered it is mobile library day, which I thought I'd miss, but will just catch on my way to uni so have rounded up all books
    - emptied dishwasher
    - am about to contact a new student who I thought I wouldn't have time to contact until later.

    Woo hoo.:j
