Newbie question:
What's a BD?
and is GUAG - Get up and Go?
x0 -
Yes, I don't know what BD is either? GUAG is just that, Englishrose.
elasticmoney I also had a terrible night - including NHS Direct nurse ringing 3 times at 3am, 4am, and 4:30am. I rang them around 11:30pm as was worried about DC who has got hit in the eye by brother (accidentally) and wanted to check I was doing everything I needed to do. I didn't realise they would ring me back IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT - what's that about?!?!? The initial assesment man said it wasn't an emergency, no A&E (which is what I wanted to check) and that the nurse would ring with 'self care advice'. At 3 in the morning?
Aaaanyhow, bossymoo I saw you mention Superdrug Hotcloth Cleanser on another thread, and as I was feeling exhausted and depressed, I took the baby into town and bought a new set of products for a really good skincare regime. Cleanser, day cream, night cream, eye serum, new foundation, shower gel, body lotion and a wash mit. It felt really special, and tonight I have properly pampered myself. I have decided that in order to fly (and keep up with all the work stuff too) I need to be looking after myself. Proper skin care regime and hair care, morning and night; keeping up with my journal and planner; early nights; and keeping my bedroom a sanctuary.
I know this is not house stuff, but I feel like I'm spring cleaning myself right now,m and hoping it will radiate out. I feel so much better already, and determined to look after myself - I'm sure I will be able to do everything else better as a result.
Going to sleep now - very early night for me! Blessings to you all, have a peaceful and restful night. x0 -
BD is what Winston Churchill referred to as his depression. He called it his black dog. HTH0

I now have my house back after two and a half days of floorboard lifting, pipe fitting and an all singing and dancing new boiler. Didnt realise how much better our central heating would be with a new boiler fitted, we are all warm and toasty and instead of having to wait for an hour for the rads to get warm, they are now almost instantly hot. Got a bit behind with lists but hoping to catch up over tomorrow and the weekend.

That sounds lovely sushistar I've never used the superdrug one, but one of these days I'll get some. I do, however, have one of those 3D face mask sheets I'm about to pop on.
Thanks again for all the lovely messages today, we haven't done too badly at all. We went to see the lights go on up at town (and got rather wet) so that was a nice distraction too, al though I think it was all too much for DD, she was in tears by the time we got home, but I had pjs ready on the radiator, so once she was in her fleecy jammies and had a cup of milk in her mitt she was much happier.p
I do feel tired, but this conscious chirpy, stiff upper lip stuff really works
Night all.
Oh, and I will be meeting another flylady this weekend, won't i deco? Looking forward to that! XBossymoo
Away with the fairies :beer:0 -

Well I knew I'd been busy and time goes fast when you're "older"......but I haven't been on here since April!!!! When I mentioned to my OH that I needed to come back on here for the sake of our house, he thought it was a good idea........but he meant it in a nice way.
I haven't even begun to catch up on what everyone has been doing since April, so a big wave to everyone who's heard of me and advance warnings for those of you you haven't heard of me cos I love writing and I'm mad. So be warned.
What have I been up to? Well I'd love to say that I've been keeping the house immaculate but that would just be a big fat lie.
By way of an intro to those I haven't bored previously: I still live in a village on the Herts/Essex border, have been a freelance dyslexia tutor/assessor for over a year now (broke away from an FE college and now do contract work for the local uni and some private work). I am easily distracted from housework especially by sitting in the conservatory with a kindle watching the birds on the feeder. I love my garden but that's a mess too. My home office still looks like a closing-down sale in WH Smiths or Staples although OH did come in just now and comment that he could actually see some of the surface of my desk. I still love zumba and a few other gym classes but I love food more.
Anyway hugs, spoons etc to all of you. You notice I'm craftily re-joining at the end of the week so I can't actually start any housework till Monday as I'm at Uni tomorrow then doing a charity Zumba and Clubercise in the evening. Oh well. Sloths rule.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Lovely to have you back, narco :j
I am about to fall into bed as I can hardly keep awake any longer (and have been asleep while sat in front of the TV - not even lying down or comfortable).
The work I have done this week should have been possible in on or at the most two days a month ago, but at least it's done now. I have a bit more to do before Saturday lunchtime, but not tomorrow unless we're back really early.
Good night all0 -
Stix for your BD, Frodders. As I was raking up the leaves earlier, thinking of the Tower's moat this afternoon I wondered if you were okay, not having seen you around for a day or three. (((Hugs))) It'll be lovely to see the photographs when you're ready, but not to worry if that takes a while.
Good to see you back, Pigpen, and it sounds as though there is a lot going on in the wider Pen family. I'd offer you a hug, but I know you'd just shrug it off.Better is good enough.0
