ASDA cancelled delivery without any notice (New member here)

  • Was you waiting 8am till 10am, or 8am to 10pm or 8pm till 10pm.

Also, how did you find out the delivery was cancelled 12 hours (1st post) or 6-8 hours (quoted post)?

Im also finding out hard to believe that Asda did not tell you the reason for the order being cancelled when you phoned them.

As the OP was not charged I can see why they never delivered. Maybe they should investigate that. Was it due to lack of funds or a problem with their own banks online systems when the order was placed?

    1. 8pm to 10pm, the delivery was scheduled to be 8-9pm

    2. Confirmation email was sent 6am that morning, but no cancelled email sent to me after 6am and before 8-9pm. My rough guess would be it is cancelled 6-12 hours before delivery.

    3. Phone ran out of credit 8 GBP before someone could answer, I was put on hold the whole time

    4. Sent mail and got reply yesterday, ASDA just said well you are not charged so it's fine, you will have your money back ten days later. I think they are not even sorry about it.

    5. Going to walk to ASDA now and borrow their phone and make the call.

Without knowing the reason the order was cancelled, its hard to establish whether Asda have anything to be sorry for.

    Agreed.

OP did you have double the amount of shopping value in your account? e.g. if you spent £50 did you have £100 in your account as they take an authorisation first, then they charge the final amount separately.

That might go some way to explain the cancellation maybe?
  • Let me give some pictures as to illustrate my point

but somehow without reason, they cancelled my order before delivery, like after that morning email was sent, so around 6-12 hours I guess.

Was starving that night, couldn't go out and buy dinner nor had the time to shop Sunday. Staff team acknowledged my difficulty, but refused to provide explanation nor to compensate for my predicament. Well I mean I borrowed some money from friends and will manage to survive this week, but I think what ASDA has done is quite disappointing.

  • Apologise for bringing out the nationality thing and appreciate you all for replying, I really felt frustrated about my experience.

Tonight I went to the store to borrow a BT line and called, but was notified that the customer service hotline closes at 8pm.. I had class and could only be there around 8, will try again tomorrow..
