ASDA cancelled delivery without any notice (New member here)

ASDA should explain why your order was cancelled.
Has the payment actually appeared on your CC statement and if so is there also a balancing credit ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Is it wrong for me to expect them to explain why they cancelled the order and compensate me a bit?
Compensation for what? What are your losses? If ASDA can do this like 6-8 hours before delivery and doesn't give a xxxx about it like cancelling order is a part of their life, I guess I have to change my supermarket, any suggestions? And should I bring about further actions like complaining to ombudsman? In Hong Kong these things hardly happens (Aussie living in Hong Kong for 20+ years)0 -
Did you ask Asda why it was cancelled?0

Did you ask them for an explanation?

You could try Tesco, Lidl, Aldi, Morrisons, Sainsburys, Coop or Waitrose.
Which ombudsman did you have in mind?
How is that relevant?
Well that night I was waiting 8-10 and starving (Couldn't go out and pick up dinner nor cook as food ran out) until I realise the delivery wasn't here, didn't have time to pick up grocery on Sunday
They didn't bother to give an explanation, they are just rude, how can you cancel delivery 6-8 hours before, and not sending me the email to tell me, whereas when they are delivering the confirmation email was quick.
I am looking for recommendations of ombudsman.
Well, just saying, I used to think brits are nice people but not quite now :P0 -

Rather than pulling the nationality card can you just answer the question.
What did ASDA give as a reason for cancelling.
Please answer it.

Asda is owned by the Americans.0 -
Asda told you:"You would need to get a fax number and a authorization code from your bank. We will then fax them to advise the order was cancelled and they will have to make the funds available on your card."
Have you done that?0 -
see post 9 and post 15
no explanation was given
No as in, go back and ask them - escalate it if necessary - but to come in the internet and start throwing round nationalities being a reason is just plain rude.
If there's not escalation back what's the purpose of this thread now.0 -

Was you waiting 8am till 10am, or 8am to 10pm or 8pm till 10pm.
Also, how did you find out the delivery was cancelled 12 hours (1st post) or 6-8 hours (quoted post)?
Im also finding out hard to believe that Asda did not tell you the reason for the order being cancelled when you phoned them.0
