    Anyone used TNT?
  • Had big problems with Yodel a couple of years ago (around christmas), but think Hermes have taken the baton and run with it now. On the flipside, my most recent Yodel deliveries have been fine compared to a couple of years ago.

Had two deliveries in the last week... one an xbox bundle from Amazon black friday and the other a pair of trainers from MandM Direct.

Xbox bundle supposed to arrive Saturday 29th... arrived Monday 1st December when we were out, but Hermes had left a card. My parcel had been left in 'Green Bin' next to the front door. Luckily it wasn't bin day, or anyone felt like taking a look inside the bin.

Then yesterday, I get an email from Hermes saying my MandM Direct parcel is with their courier... this one being delivered to work. No parcel turned up yesterday by the time I left at 5.30pm.

Checked the tracker this morning, which stated the courier would attempt to redeliver today, as there was no-one at our office when he attempted delivery the first time... at 11.58pm!!!

It did arrive today, and was dropped by some random 'courier' in his corsa.

Thats the problem with Yodel before, and Hermes now - at their busiest times, they employ pure numptys who are clearly paid by parcels being 'delivered' by any means, whether thats directly to the recipient, or left in a bin, or chucked over a fence.

So if you are expecting anything being delivered by Hermes... beware!

I use Hermes fairly often and have never had a single bad experience at any stage of the service and the prices are great. :)

  • I have just registered as a business seller and decided to test a few of my personal items with my hermes.

Out of the first 4 items I sent 2 items were lost which I wasn't very impressed with. After 2 weeks I was able to put a claim in for the items and a week later was fully reimbursed for the items. I am happy with how I was dealt with and have since used them again.

From my own experience I would recommend using them. And if an item was to go astray you will get compensated so you won't lose any money.

Just be careful with the amount of things that are not covered, the list is quite extensive.

Heads up. Hermes Warrington had a fire at the depot last weekend. No parcels have been damaged but items are taking much longer to arrive, seems up to five days to move.

    From myhermes.
Update 05/12/14 11:00: Further to yesterday's hub fire, we are pleased to announce that nobody was hurt, no parcels were damaged, the hub machines are now repaired and we are fully operational again. We would ask for your patience over the weekend as we catch up on the backlog of parcels.
Please note: NEXT deliveries have not been affected by this incident due to the unique way they process their parcels through our network.

They allegedly attempted to deliver 3 times to me, despite only one note being put through the door stating "first attempt".. my item has now been sent back to the sender, as they kindly left the phone number part blank so I was unable to do as they suggested and call to arrange a suitable time for delivery..

Unfortunately this is what happens when senders pay the extra £1 for a signed for delivery. The courier isn't allowed to leave it in a safe place if you're out.

    I don't understand that?
