They're as good as anyone else in my experience. Don't know how they do if you're sending to somewhere off the beaten track though.

Adding £1 to each delivery is expensive you might be better with another carrier.

I don't pay the £1 and nearly all still say 'delivered - signature obtained'.

As someone who often wastes a quid with Royal Mail signed for - even i think its wasted with Hermes.

Indeed. There speaks the voice of experience.

I sell on Ebay and I have been advised by a friend to use Hermes. Can anyone tell me if they are good or not, or should I go to someone else?

Many thanks and hope you can help.

How many items do you send per day?

    Ad-hoc I would recommend Parcel2Go or ParcelMonkey

Multiple Items (less well known) - http://www.parcelhub.co.uk

Just sent off with Hermes so I'll wait and see what happens. Have you used Parcel monkey and Parcel to go? What about City Link?
  • They allegedly attempted to deliver 3 times to me, despite only one note being put through the door stating "first attempt".. my item has now been sent back to the sender, as they kindly left the phone number part blank so I was unable to do as they suggested and call to arrange a suitable time for delivery..
  • I used to be very wary of Hermes after they 'lost' a £60 item that my son sent. However, my Royal Mail business account can't accept anything over 2 kg, so I have used Hermes several times, all delivered promptly with no problems.

I pay the 20p extra to get a text confirming delivery.
You're only young once, but you can be immature forever :D

I used to use City Link through Parcel Monkey but then they raised their prices. I still use City Link for larger items that people want delivered in 24 hours. While our My Hermes courier comes next day regardless, the City Link one turns up next day as promised about 70% of the time. They do always turn up the day after that though.
