Hello, I have not used these cashback sites before. I have more than one car that I would like to get the AA cover for. Would I be able to get £20/£25 for EACH of the cars I sign up for if I go through Quidco or TopCashBack?

    Thanks.

There's also a great repair cover that the AA offer as long as your car is less than 10 years old.

For £65, you can make up to 5 claims a year for parts and labour up to £500 each! Has to be part of your breakdown which the AA patrolman verifies;)

does this include a flat tyre?
i have taken this out and had a flat tyre but didnt hink of claiming the money back from aa

You guys are missing a HUGE trick with the AA. The cheapest cover only covers you if you are more than half a mile from home. This is because most cars break down in this location, especially in cold weather. SO, simply register at a parents/grandma's/friends house, and if you break down outside where you live then you are classed as away from your home base and obviously there as you are visiting someone!

What happens if I'm already a member of the AA and am up for renewal?

Can I just cancel my renewal, wait a few days after my membership has run out, and then sign up again as a new member? Or will the AA remember me and say no...

Yes, you should be able to, but you would have to do each transaction completely separately.
  • Hiya,
I am new to all this and have just registered with topcashback. Once you click on the AA link and it takes you to the AA site how do topcashback know you have signed up? :s
  • Cath quotes the below in her post but I can't see any Nectar link in the thread (forgive me if I missed it) can anyone help with how to get the additional Nectar points once the AA Cover is bought.

    Cheers,

    Great deal! Thank you!

To the PP, no need to ring them - if you click on Martin's link above to the Nectar website, you'll see some small print where they direct you via a link to an online form where you can fill in your AA membership number, Nectar card number and the BA01 code and they say they'll credit the points owed within 28 days.

    HTH,
    Cath

Not to get too technical, there will be a 'tag' in the link that the cashback site provides. As long as everything's working properly, this will be passed through to the AA website and continue to be passed through your online purchase. Once you've put in your payment information and a page comes up saying "Thank you for your purchase", the tag is 'dropped' and the AA recognises that it owes someone commission.

Not every company then pays the commission instantly - it depends how they're set up. And some are extra cautious because they've been subject to cashback scams whereby a user has found a way to continually hit the "Thank you" page and drop the tag, resulting in too much commission paid.

Then, once the company has paid the commission to the cashback site, the cashback site has to recognise a second part of the tag identifying the user (i.e. you!) and pay you the money.

If you're worried that you can't see the tag in your address bar, it could well be hidden, and someone with a bit of techy knowledge can check it by looking in the source code. But that's a bit much for this board!

this has now gone upto £35.44 changed while i was completing ,still joined as a good deal anyway for £10.44,
forgot to say thanks martin !

andybk, it's only £35.44 if you want it to be - i.e. if you choose cover for yourself both in your own car and also when in any other car, even as a passenger. The cheaper offer descibed is still valid and covers just your car, not you. I've just signed my daughter up for this brilliant deal (thanks, Martin!) and delberately chose the £35.44 option, but I didn't have to.
