Ok, can someone clear this up for definite...?

Are the AA going to honor this deal for their £29 cover or not (I actually want the joint cover - which is a lot to spend if they say no!)?
Also, will there be issues with using the Nectar code too?

I see that some posters (above) are having a little trouble already. Hmmmm. And £14 to cancel? By law (I believe) there is a grace period of 7 days (not 28), isn't there?

ARHHHHH, just phoned AA to cancel, they are saying they are going to charge me £14 to cancel this cover now.
surely they must have a cooling off period? or is that just for insurnace policies?

    The terms and conditions say

The following refund policy will apply for Members cancelling within the cooling-off period:
    1. a) if the Member joined already requiring assistance, the Member will receive a full refund of any premium paid less the AA's charges for assistance provided. The minimum charge for this assistance is £90, which excludes any additional recovery charges paid for excess mileage (see under 'Relay', 'what is not covered').
    2. b) if the Member did not join already requiring assistance, the Member will receive a full refund of the premium paid less a pro rata charge for the period of cover and the AA's administration charge.
I really don't know if I have a leg to stand on for not being charged £14 for something I canceled within 9 hours of taking out.

Should it not state £14 in their terms and conditions. Are they allowed to leave it as an open charge?

Just joined via Quidco for £29.60:beer:

Will check my Quidco Account in next couple of days to see if the £25 has been added.

    Cheers everyone.

  • Hopefully I can clear this up.

The 30% discount and the Nectar Bonus Points offer cannot be used together, there is no field on the website to capture the Bonus Points offer when you wish to take advantage of the 30%. The Terms & Conditions of the website clearly explain that offers can't be combined.

However, we do allow Nectar customers to enter their Nectar card number and take advantage of the standard 2 points for every £1 spent. This offer is currently available with other promotions.

The redemption of your £25 from Quidco, or any other cashback site, is an matter between the customer and that site. The AA has no involvement in that relationship. Any problems with with the technical process or collection of your cashback needs to be taken up with Quidco.

Policies cancelled within the 14 day cooling off period will be refunded less a £14 administration fee. Any policy cancelled after this period, within the first year, will not be subjected to any refund. Again this is clear in our Terms & Conditions and I would encourage people to read them before making any web purchase.

I hope this helps to clear up any confusion.

Steve where does it say £14 cancellation. I have also just spoken with the office of fair trading about this charge they say within 7 days you should not be charging customers to cancel as within this time the distance selling regulations set out that a customer must have time to examine goods or services purchased over the internet and recieve a full refund, not pro rata or admin charges.

But is this £14 'administration charge' like the bank charges saga? i.e. above the cost it actually costs the AA to cancel your Policy? Surely it's just the press of a key on a computer?
