Affected by poor mobile phone signal?

If people are just worried about getting signal at home then a femtocell or an app like "Three in touch" will give you that. I use both and they always work fairly well.0

I am on 02 in the Crewe area and my signal at home can range from zero to 3 bars if I sit on my bedroom window ledge. However by biggest gripe is the very poor service I get almost everywhere for 02,3G. We caravan and have found in some locations a limited 3G signal (therefore internet) is not available until 3pm, and then at say 6:30 the full 3G is available - mad. My previous supplier was Three and telephone wise it was not much different to 02, but 3G wise Three generally knocks spots off 02 everywhere – I wished I had not moved and will be going back to Three once my remaining 5 months with 02 is over..0

We live in Otterton, East Devon, where we are virtually signal-free across all networks.
I'm actually with T-mobile (now EE). There's a mast of theirs at nearby Ladram Bay, but that's over a hill so out of sight/range. To get a signal I have to climb up the hill behind us, cross a field, then through the next hedge there's a 20m stretch where I can get 3 bars ... Not clever when the rain's coming horizontally!
I'm told Orange got planning permission some years ago to put up a mast to serve the village (against strong local opposition, I believe), but it got canned before being done - perhaps part of the Orange/T-mobile merge to become EE.
Having only recently moved here, I complained to EE. Eventually they provided me with a signal booster box (acts like a mini-mast, but plugs into a router and traffic is carried via a home broadband service). As it's a business contract they rather pleasingly supplied that for free.
My wife is with Talk Mobile, and she has a 30cm sq area on our bed upstairs where she can get 1 bar. Nowhere else! Anywhere else in the house and she now picks up 4 network bars from my signal box, but can't access the service since TM is carried on Vodafone's network..
We're both up for contract renewal now, so will be going to one on which we can use the signal box - EE, Virgin or ASDA!
First network to get a mast up serving the village will probably be trampled in the rush of subscribers switching to them!Cheers,

Signal here is dire, no matter who you are with
When I first moved here I was with T.Mobile. Unfortunately I kept picking up the signal from the ROI and so charged roaming for all calls
Three, fine in town, nothing out here in the sticks
O2 whom I'm with now used to be good for signal but now it's very flakey.
But at least I get signal. There's none in the villages I live between0 -
In addition, because we are in the country and get frequent power or phone cuts, we have no means of alerting the utility companies if the phoneline goes.0

Signal here is rubbish or non existent. I have to go in the garden to use my phone which is EE.0

I was with 02 for many years but about 5 years ago the big mast which was on the Great Leigh's show ground was taken down and replaced with a smaller one. My reception went from good to not being able to receive calls and only get a few texts. Because of this I changed to Orange who told me they had brilliant coverage on this area and 4g was available. Orange however is even worse and I get no reception at all and receive texts only when I leave the area.
I pay £30 a month for no reception. Ridiculous considering when I travel abroad I have no issues at all wherever I am. Even a small Caribbean Island had better reception than me who lives only 33miles from our Capital city.
It needs sorting urgently.0 -
Where I live is nearly covered by 3 operators: 02, T.Mobile & Orange. The best (joke) is Orange under EE. Mostly I can partially get 2G, sometimes a fleeting 3G. National roaming would be a disaster, I've had to manually tie my phone to Orange otherwise it's constantly searching for the best signal. Network sharing would achieve nothing. More masts or a stronger signal would be the only way to improve things. Yes, you may have guessed - I live in N Wales!0

We have no signal at all on any network either in the house or up to half a mile away (Bodmin Moor). The best thing I ever bought was a 'value' corded phone for a fiver from Argos - for when the overhead power lines are down (which happens regularly)and I have to report the fault. Hooray for whatsapp to stay in touch with the outside world!0
