  • I suggest you read my last post again. Did I mention white sugar at all? The sugar used in brewing is the result of the malted grain starch being broken down during the mashing.

    Yes Gloomandoom, I noticed you changed your tune from referring to "sugar "as either maltose or sucrose or fructose when initially you meant good old Tate and Lyle in 1 kg bags .After I put you right once again you moved the goal posts and tried to make out thats what you meant all the time. why did nt you refer to the correct type of sugar in the first place ?..I did ? .you can learn things from these posts and at least you ve leant a few things.spread the word

    Are you saying that the yeast feeds on salt? That's a new one on me.

    I brew my own beer and I know yeast loves sugar.

    Much of the sugar in bread is naturally occurring and not added afterwards.
    Have a google at this article " How much sugar is in your "healthy " brown and wholemeal ...www. telegraph.co.uk>news>health .. Personally I ve only ever had wholemeal bread since it was produced decades ago and as a recent diabetic was shocked to find out the truth, they add sugar ( probably as high glucose corn syrup ) to disguise the bitterness of wholegrain bread . "Yeast feeds on salt , thats a new one on me " . I put you right on that, you try and squirm out of it. " I brew my own beer , I know yeast loves sugar " so I put you right right on modern brewing methods and the plonker then trys to lie its way out of it by saying , " when I wrote sugar, what I really meant was maltose ". Of course you did, you googled it !.what you have nt quite managed to do so far is to google " how to make bread, which reveal that the four ingredients needed, accent on needed, are flour, water, yeast, and salt. How big business makes bread has got nothing to do with it. Also , when you have a minute google "Rhenheitsgebot ( Germanies purity law ) and also for good measure CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale who will inform you of the correct and ethical way of brewing beer/lager. As I have taken pains to both educate you and WARN you, (for your own benefit and weght loss) of the ADDED sugars to much of the commercial bread, especially wholemeal , then I clearly am wasting my time. You will not be convinced, so I m ending any more banter with you, the brick wall has won, I m fed up of banging my head against it.

    I'm back from my holiday, had an amazing time and met some op
    Ifelong goals.

    I'm still deciding what to do work wise so in the meantime have been concentrating this last fortnight on looking after nan as she is full of cold and doesn't seem too well, which is rather sad. she will be 90 in a few weeks so she is doing well bless her.

    So I'm going to give the 5 to 2 diet a bash. Wednesday's won't be a 2 day as it's always a manic day but I'm thinking Thursdays and Sunday's to be honest.

    Anyway since I've been away I'm sadly back to 16 stone. So im aiming for 12 stone and see where I am from there. I'm going to try and work part time as looking after nans a full time job and will give me more time to concentrate on losing weight.

    Hope everyone is well
    :T:T :beer: :beer::beer::beer: to the lil one :) :beer::beer::beer:
