First of all, I checked and I see that I can reserve it for in-store collection for £19.99, without any top up, and my store isn't 'fasttrack'. So, I don't see where this information about the compulsory topup comes from.

When you go instore you can't pay at the automated checkout, and are directed to the normal checkout who will then add the £10 on before taking payment.

Any chance you or your parents can qualify for CPW PAYG upgrade?
They have a very similar Huawey Y330 for the same price. No topup needed and it's not locked.

Asset2004, even if you do have to buy the additional £10 top-up at Argos, just use that credit up first (on EE) and then move over to 3 321.

You could even port the number over.

If we're still talking about the Alcatel onetouch C1, that's not my experience.

I ordered and paid online without a top-up and collected from an Argos fasttrack store. I went straight to the collection counter, bypassing the regular payment till, showed my printout and picked up my phone.

The box included an EE SIM with 0p value, which I rejected and proceeded to unlock the phone with my preferred SIM.

The answer seems to be to avoid paying instore. Why would you even try when the pay online without a top-up is the proven way to go?

Have you read the whole thread? We are discussing non fast track stores. There aren't that many of them yet, some buyers don't have that option.

No fast track stores near me, is EE any good? I had hoped to buy this to add a 3 sim to

But the problem is I need to get a £10 top up to EE before I can unlock it.:( Was going to get this for my parents but they probably won't spend the £10 EE very quickly and there's no fastrack stores near me, any suggestions? :o

It's quite clear, the OP has no fast track stores near them. Do you see that now?

No. The OP did post on this page, but about something completely different ... unless you don't mean the OP who originally posted on 9 November.

Do you, given that the OP made no such claim?

    Enough confusion. Let's move on.
