    I made a fuss of the bag last night and said it was really nice then when I saw that you shouldn't really get it wet I said that was a bit of a concern to me and that I didn't think I would feel comfortable using it until the summer

    He offered to return it but I said it would be ok I'd just have to be really careful with it and I told him that it was just too much money for someone like me and that I was really scared id damage it and he'd be mad

    He said he thought if like as I always look at Ted baker bags when were our which I agreed with but said I was looking at £35 ones not the £250 ones and made it a bit of a joke

    His response is that I deserve expensive things (what ever that means)

    I then spoke to him this morning and asked if we could return it as I'm too scared to use it due to the cost ect and he has agreed to return it he is a little offended but I think he was always going to end up being no matter how I dealt with it

    Still feel awful though as I know he was trying to do something nice but just missed the mark I was more made up about the John Lewis Monty the penguin he got than the bag lol

    Have you seen the price of Monty the penguin? :eek::rotfl:

    OP I can see completely where you are coming from, not being a handbag girl either, if my OH spent that much money on a bag then I'd be having stern words :rotfl: and for the poster that said their boyfriend got them a Chloe bag for £899... :eek: I swear I can think of about 50 things that you could get for the same price I would rather have lol.

    I would if he had a passport :rotfl:

    The other annoying thing is if he opened his eyes he would see there are bags everywhere in the house at least 3 behind the door about 9 under the stairs and don't even get me started on the wardrobe in our room lol
    All the more reason to apply, it`s so quick and you could be on that plane in no time.
    Men can be creatures of habit and stick to what they know. mine keeps getting me the same kind of gifts even though I have quite a selection of them, rather like your bags.
    Enjoy your anniversary.
  • Last year for my birthday OH bought me a £90 set of hair wavers - I have naturally wavy hair and the woman on the box looked exactly like my hair when I leave it to dry naturally, which I always do. I got him to return it and buy me a spade, fork and walk in plastic greenhouse instead!

    I am confused.

    I thought you didn't want it, but when he offered to return it, you said it doesn't matter. How come?
    You didn't, did you? :rotfl::rotfl:

    I didn't want to throw it straight back in his face minutes after opening it he knows I can't make a decision straight away so I had to give it some time for me to "think" to make it believable

    Does that make sense?
