Hello lovely Lucky and chums. I've been reading your diary for the last two eves and just caught up. I know Lilty and beanielou from elsewhere! I don't know where to start Lucky. In these days where we are lead to believe we should hop it at the first sign of challenges in our relationships you are utterly heroic as are some of your thread followers. I really respect you.
I have lurked first and am unsure what I have to offer you other than massive cheers and hugs. I look forward to seeing you obliterate your debt this year.
One thing that occurred to me as an observation just because I read everything in one go is that many hours of your nights are spent anticipating episodes which never occur. You loose sleep but the event rarely takes place, although I completely understand why you are on tenterhooks. Is there anything which can help you to get your poor brain off red alert so you can get some deep sleep??
You are awesome!! Nite nite. XWith family, friends and pets (or any combination of them) life will be fine!

Bless DS2. My friends little boy is in reception and he is finding it exhausting. Does DS2 nap when he gets home? As Jelly gets 2yo funding, they have to start the EYFS to prove they are giving us the governments moneys worth, hence starting early with all this, but she loves it and would rather play the shape/colour matching games/read some words or count than watch tv! She rarely sits still so the hard task is getting her to concentrate and sit down for things like a tv programme so I can have 2 minutes peace!
Sleep tight you yummy mummy!! Hope your bath was not sharedxx
Morning Lilt!
It was me who offered to stand with the dog, as MiL hadn't seen it before and DH couldn't remember ever being there before despite being there several times, most recently on Halloween!! It did get quite lonely at times though and VERY cold.
DS2 never naps! He hasn't since he had just turned one!! I mourned the loss of naps for ages :rotfl:.
Bath wasn't shared but I was turfed out by DS1 who wanted in after me and he was followed by DS2! Share and share alike. I did offer Dh 4th hand bath water at the end but for some reason he didn't fancy it :rotfl: XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Hi Hopefuljoy, thank you for joining us and taking the time to read this whole diary. Your words are very kind.
I totally agree that I spend lots of time worrying about things that don't necessarily materialise. Robin has previously suggested a seizure dog who would warn me only of an imminent seizure so I could relax more, which sounds like a wonderful idea but DH doesn't qualify for one. There are also things along the lines of watches etc which can warn of oncoming seizure activity but they seem mostly USA based and expensive, so at the minute it's down to me to recognise signs. DH's seizures this last year have had no real pattern as to when they occur;
13th Jan 14- tonic clonic, while sleeping
14/3/14 - 2pm in afternoon, tonic clonic, been off all day
11/4/14 - partial, 8pm, awake
24/4/14 - 4.50am, tonic clonic, while sleeping
22/6/14 - 1.55am, tonic clonic, while sleeping.
18/09/14 - 3.10am, tonic clonic, while sleeping.
01/10/14 - 5.25am, tonic clonic, while sleeping.
27/10/14 - 8.50am ish, tonic clonic, while running.
30/11/14 - 1.50 am and 5.25am, both tonic clonic, while sleeping. Partial seizure at 9.40pm while awake.
As you can see, it's 50% while he's awake and 50% while he's asleep. There is no real 'normal' gap between seizures, I think the longest gap we've had is 13 weeks and the shortest 10 days between episodes. I feel very responsible for making sure he is safe so I don't ever sleep too deeply, but it is particularly hard to sleep when he is so jerky it is literally like a toddler is jumping on the bed next to me. On top of that I am quite often woken by DS2 through the night for one reason or another, or by DS1 if he is poorly. If any one of them have a bad night, the common denominator is me having a bad night too. I don't sleep like other people do, I sleep with one eye open!!Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Oh, and the list above doesn't include the 'waves of fear' mini seizures which happen repeatedly and way more frequently, or even mention the bad memory days/days where he doesn't know who or where he is. Sometimes I wonder how I haven't had a complete mental breakdown yet :rotfl: XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

I don't think Mr Lucky feels the diary is girlie, he just doesn't think he is up to the task. I shall prompt and prompt until he does it though, through whatever means he feels is best. I suggested it in a 'wouldn't it be helpful if we both made a diary that we could show the Epilepsy nurse when we see her and rule out any triggers' sort of way, which he is on board with, so it will happen as long as I push it.
Quick update tonight as I'm off to bed. Had a nice but freezing cold day at Beamish. Took MiL for the first time but she brought her dog which meant I spent a lot of time standing outside buildings while she, DH and the boys went in to look. On the upside, she paid for lunch so all it cost me was £5 for the skating rink. Had a lovely bubble bath to warm up when we got back and I even painted my nails afterwards as a bit of a pamper. Get me!! La-di-dah Xx
Awesome, I love it at beamish, the annual pass is worth it..and we share ours...oops. only problem is we are a 2 and a bit hours drive away which used to be ok cos we had rellies there but now we just go for the museum. And to buy baked goods from the bakery. I heard they are building a 1950s town now..that should be good
glad you had a nice dayLose 1st 7lb

We borrow my Mum's corporate pass from work so we don't have to pay to get in! We spend enough while we are there though at the fish and chip shop/bakery/sweet shop and rides! Yesterday was the lowest amount I've EVER spent there and that's only because MiL paid!!
I was tempted to offer my own house for the 1950's bit! They are looking for houses to replicate and mine is quite quirky as it's curved. XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Glad you had a good day Lucky. I sleep very lightly too - I think once you've had children you never sleep properly again - too many years of listening out for them.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Hey Lucky!
It sounds like a really positive start to the year. I am looking forward to the journey with you and I am sure you will get that debt cleared this year. I love the diary idea. I hope it goes well and helps DH to feel more independant. Sometimes the little things can really mean a lot.
I am joining you with the weight loss and NSDs this month! I know we can do it!!

Thanks October, I'm sure we can all spur each other on. We packed the Christmas tree and decorations away today up into the loft. I wish I could put my extra 7lbs 'christmas weight' up there too!
We have been swimming today which the boys were desperate to do as it's been closed the whole of the rest of the Christmas holidays due to one thing and another. They had a great time so it was £2 well spent. I got conned into buying them a Maccy D's for lunch on the way home though, so that was another £7. DH and I ate food from the cupboards when we got home. Afterwards we took the tree down etc as I said, and then I moved on to clearing out the boys' wardrobes of things they have outgrown. I'm feeling a little more organised now but I still have lots of things to do before I'm happy! It's funny how the New Year makes you want to get organised isn't it?
Sat here all smug that I would normally be at work now but I'm offXx

I totally agree with you. New Year really does spur you on! Maccy D's is a serious problem with my OH and I. Terrible food but can't seem to get enough. Do you have a Maccy's in your Mr As?
