  • Been to the zoo today. Lanterns are gorgeous in the daylight Beanie, so I’d imagine they are great in the dark. Lovely and quiet at the zoo as the schools haven’t broken up yet and it was great to get up close to everything.

Went to Dynamic Earth yesterday and then the Hard Rock cafe . Pleased it wasn’t our money we were spending .

Finance team from the ‘store from Hell’ phoned today to say £30 cash is being sent to my bank account. Better than nothing I suppose and at least it’s cash not vouchers.

  • 4 days since I last posted :o. Oops.

The rest of our time in Edinburgh was great. Went to Camera Obscura amongst other things which was good fun, and the Butterfly and Insect World which I adore. Really enjoyed the break, the hotel was lovely, ate far too much but walked miles so ‘only’ a 3lb gain today. Will definitely have to pull my finger out again after Christmas though, especially after a straight talking but lovely nurse told me off last week at my pill check :o.

The boys have broken up from school today. As much as I enjoy them being off I could’ve done with a few more days to get everything ready for Christmas. Everywhere is manically busy and it’s taking twice as long to get anywhere due to heavy traffic :(. I’m only half way through all the wrapping too .

Glad you enjoyed your break. Christmas always seems to sneak up. One minute it's ages away and then all of a sudden it's Christmas Eve. Catches me out every year, I always think I'm prepared early, then it all goes pear shaped. Hey ho.
