  • Hi Lucky!

I've been lurking the last couple of weeks but had to say that reading about your cold has made me feel better. I am sick as a dog at the moment :(

Hoping I can get over it soon enough. Can't wait to put my few christmas deccys up but waiting until next weekend as I am taking a load of stuff to my DM on Thursday.

Keep being the amazing inspiration you are.

    October xx

Hi Lucky - hope you feel better today.

Just catching up with your diary and as usual you've had an eventful few days. I don't blame you for being embarrassed when Mr Lucky took the chips, I'd be the same. Especially if it isn't obvious he has a brain injury. Mr SA embarrassed me on Friday in Stratford on Avon when he stopped a passer by to ask him where the nearest Wetherspoons was - we weren't even looking for one!

Well done on the weight loss, you're doing so well - in everything really not just losing weight. Take care xx

  • Hello you!!

Bottle of wine & being a bit squiffy sounds like the perfect remedy to a carp week to me!! Hope your cold is on the up. I finally feel a bit more like me today but still have an awful cough driving me mad. Jelly has moved on to mega teething so she isn't any better which is tiring.

I put the tree up yesterday - I don't really have a set routine for it yet as it all depends on work & when I get a minute to clean up AND put it up :D am feeling a bit gross because I haven't yet pulled the sofa out and scrubbed under it. It hides so much muck! :o:o not to mention a million bits of lego duplo!

Hope you got a good night after your little vino splurge! :) xx

  • Evening all!!

Beanie, the night was indeed uneventful (for a change!!). I only drank half the bottle of wine last night and the other half is going down well tonight. I think I'm screwed for the weigh in on Tuesday though :o.

Granny I hope the DGC enjoyed the Coke truck! You'll have to let me know what they actually did there, I'm intrigued to find out if the wait would have been worth it!

October I'm sorry you have been feeling so rubbish, get well soon.

SA, I just commented re Wetherspoons on your diary! Once again I'm sorry you know first hand what it's like. I think the fact that you usually can't tell just be looking at Mr Lucky that there is anything wrong is the worst part in a way, as no one makes any allowances. Of course, it's good in lots of other ways that he looks 'normal'. I can see a difference from before the accident though, his eyes don't sparkle any more :(. He can see it too and often comments that he looks vacant in photos.

Today we have been to the cinema to see Paddington which was fab. MiL was a big Paddington fan so we invited her too and she ended up paying :T. I bought the coffees etc but it still worked out a much cheaper day than expected.

Dad has been on my mind today obviously, but it's been ok. Haven't spoken to Mum as she's away visiting her partner's son, but my Sister and I have been in touch and supported each other throughout the day.

Late afternoon has been spent washing and ironing etc and getting ready for both school and Beavers tomorrow. DH has been quite down as his memory has been particularly poor today. Daft things that don't really matter like thinking he'd never seen Sam Bailey before despite watching the whole of last year's Xfactor with her in it, and then slightly more important things like listening to DS2 read and then immediately forgetting how he'd done (we are supposed to write a note in his learning journey as to anything he did particularly well with or struggled with). He's quite withdrawn tonight :(.

  • You snuck in there Lilt!!

Glad you are feeling a bit better, I am too. I think I've got rid of my cough apart from during the night when I get that dry-tickly-wont-go-away-so-you-can-sleep-thing. I hope you continue to improve and Jelly isn't too bad with her teeth bless her.

Under your sofa sounds like mine!! Or at least it was before it was cleaned for the tree to go up. It was yackety :o.

  • Gutted for DH bless him. A lot for all of you to deal with!

Big hugs for your dads 'day'. Never very nice. Lots of love for you and your sister. And again MiL is a bright star :) lovely of her as always!

The thing about my sofa is that I am a 'mover' and ship my furniture around the room on a monthly basis. Yet still when I push it out since Jelly arrived, there are mouldy raisins and lego stuck to the floor with juice (?!?!) and pencils and lids to bottles that don't exist & lord only knows what else. Plus the giant balls of fluff and hairballs courtesy of me. I create the same amount of fur as an army of dogs.

Speaking of fur... and thinking of Mrs H's nice knickers.... :o I was in the shower and jelly came in yesterday whilst I was washing (because one cannot shower in peace in my house). She leant into the shower, and gave my lady 'garden' a good look... before stating 'wow big hair!' - I died a bit inside and grabbed the razor! :rotfl:

I know all about the not sleeping cough. Driving me nuts. Keep coughing while cooking too. I think its something to do with the steam/heat.

Right I have resolved to drag the sofa out before I am back to work Weds. Full up day tomorrow though. xx

Thanks for your support on my diary Lucky. Mr SA has two holes on the top of his head which kinda give away the fact that all is not right. He is so conscious of them and often catches people looking. Glad you're starting to feel a bit better and that you are enjoying a glass of wine. I hope Mr Lucky's being withdrawn tonight isn't a precursor to another seizure. I think it's tougher for men to cope with this sort of thing. They like to be the ones in charge and in control. Women just keep calm and carry on.

  • Heh heh Lilt, aren't kids brilliant?! Really know how to make you feel good about yourself! DS2 regularly tells me that he loves my boobs and big tummy because they are so squishy. Cheers son!

Under your sofa is definitely like mine! Throw in some cat fluff and some hot wheels cars and it's exactly the same :rotfl:.

SA you have it spot on. DH gets very down when he thinks he's not a proper person or worse still if he feels he's let the boys or I down. I do hope it's not leading to seizure though.

Fingers crossed Mr SA is ok after his fall. Hugs to you Xx

DGD2 laughed when she saw my knickers during a trip to the toilet, asking me why I was wearing 'Nana knickers'. Made me try harder at losing weight as although I'm her Granny she clearly doesn't see me in the same age bracket as her nana and therefore I shouldn't be wearing big knickers

    :D :rotfl: at the memory
