Lucky - Just caught up on your new diary. What a life you lead! I will never again moan about my free time - My life will probably be like heaven on a plate for you - other that you'd probably give it back saying its too boring! Hope DH and the kids are ok tonight and you get some sleep.

As for chub club - I get weighed in on Tuesdays too and I don't even want to go this week as I daren't find out how many pounds I have gained. I'd rather not know! If it weren't for the fact I'd get charged anyway - I'd skip it but you seem to be doing well - 4lb losses are great. Do you do WW or SW?

Hope today has been less manic

    x

    Hi myteeduck!!

I do SW. It really works when I stick to it, it's just I only seem to be able to manage a week or two and then comfort eating strikes again. I really need to stop doing that. I could have been at target three times by now if you add up all my losses, it's just that there have been some epic gains along the way too.

I hope your weigh in is better than you expect tomorrow. Xx

When I asked family for gift ideas I told them that in the absence of a gift idea they would get a box, prettily wrapped, filled with kisses.

I'm going to use your rhyme, please, and attach it
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?
  • Ah Lucky!! I have little wooden blocks, beautifully wrapped, with that exact rhyme on a lovely tag attached to it. My mum and MiL have one each inside their 'show off' cupboards! I love the idea. I paid £2.99 for those a few years ago mind you ;)

I don't do chub club because I never stick to anything. the need for chocolate is too great for any diet to ever win. I resent giving money towards my own personal failures - might as well spend it on chocolate :rotfl:

satchmo Love your disclaimer to family and friends. Presents ideas or kisses... my mum would deliberately not tell me anything to get a box of kisses. In her bedroom she has a beautiful Winnie the Pooh box I sent to her not long after I moved here. It had a 'Me to You Worlds best Mum' bear in it and I wrote on the box to open it very carefully as huge hugs were stored inside. I taped it up very dramatically. She still goes and opens it for a hug sometimes. And I 'fill it up' when I am there! :rotfl:

beanie - I wasn't ashamed enough to do my legs as well. They can wait another couple of weeks... :rotfl:

  • Quick update before bed.

DS2 was utterly gorgeous as the Little Donkey who carried Mary in his nativity play :D. There were collective 'awwww's from the rest of the audience when he got on stage in his costume. He is so cute, love that boy. Can't wait to watch it again tomorrow.

Went shopping afterwards as MiL wants me to get an actual present from her for Christmas. She says it's not fair that when she gives me money I usually end up spending it on the boys/debts/food etc rather than treating myself. As usual though I found nothing :(. It's always the same when I have the opportunity to buy something, when I have no money I see lots of things. Will have to keep looking.

Ended up in bed with tummy pains this afternoon . They were absolutely awful. Went to chub club anyway (stayed the same yay), as I had to drop DH and the boys off at MiL's for tea and I thought I'd just see if I could manage and if not I'd come home again. Thankfully they started to wear off and I managed the whole class. Think i've either eaten something dodgy (though can't think what??), or I've picked up the bug that half of DS2's class have had.

Anyway, off to bed now the washing machine has finished (and so has Geordie Shore :o). Night all Xx

Been missing in action for a couple of weeks......

Sounds as if you have had a roller coaster couple of weeks.... Hope it calms down

Really hope you can find a present for you soon x
As a dear MSE friend says “keep plodding” or
What does the saying say.... When life hands you lemons, make lemonade
Or as my Mum would say, brush yourself down, tomorrow is another day or
Fake it, to you Make It

Please say hello my new diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6578460/still-dancing-to-blow-the-debt-clouds-away
  • Hi BM, nice to have you back.

Yesterday disappeared in a whirlwind of nativity plays, shopping, homework and visitors etc. I also had to make an emergency dash to the GP to collect more tablets for DH as we discovered he'd run out and thought he'd told me he a few days ago was running low but he hadn't :(. Today has been calmer but DS2 has stayed home from school with a sore throat (jury still out on whether he really is ill or not!), so we've been decorating biscuits and sorting through old toys to make space for anything new that Santa might bring. I've also hoovered, ironed, written Christmas cards and caught up on jobs that have been put off while I've been out of the house more than I've been in it recently.

We've had snow and ice here today. Glad to have been in the house all day!

DH isn't great. Very angry and snappy, and super tired. He's been having a lie down for the last couple of hours but I'm a bit worried about him. I wouldn't be surprised if he was building up to a seizure.

    Hope everyone is well Xx
