  • You certainly should be proud Lilt, you are like Mary Poppings, practically perfect in every way :D.

Mara, if you get there before us, don't eat all the cake :p.

So, I've left us properly skint til Tuesday :o. No water or council tax rates went out this month, and I was going to pay the same amount (£50) across to the credit card, but then decided to buy the blinds I've been desperate for, for the boys' rooms and the landing window. It was £80 for all 3 including delivery which I thought was good for custom made blinds, and using the £50 direct debit money saved it *only* cost another £30. Except I also over spent at half term and seem to have taken my eye of the other spending too while I've not been myself. Result is we only just have enough to cover the mortgage which is due out on Monday . Looks like a few NSD's are required (though they are anyway as I've not managed any so far this month:o).

DS1 comes home this afternoon. House has been very quiet without him! Hope all has been ok his end!

Tuesday isn't far away Lucky... plan a nice quiet free weekend with the boys... I am trying to do the same after all the frenetic activity this week.

Hooray for new much needed blinds! I need some or some net curtains as someone has chopped all the trees down outside and now I am all exposed to council offices and the court and police station.. surrounded by high rises. :( I keep thinking about doing it but I want to move so it feels a waste. Don't have the money to move so then wonder whether I should just buy it, and then think... but if I saved the money I could move quicker... round and round and round :rotfl:

Lilty, buy the net curtains because a) you'll get some privacy and b) if you do decide to sell, it may stop potential buyers seeing how overlooked you are.

Lucky, glad you're sounding so much better now, I was worried for you. I bet you all really missed DS1: I bet the washing he brings home is ugggh.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

Brilliant to hear you sounding like the Lucky we know and love once again :) Those blinds were a bargain and I bet they look lovely. Have a great weekend.

  • Thanks everyone. Had a bit of a wobble again last night and still feel a bit anxious this morning. Back at the GP Monday afternoon so will see what they say. Still haven't heard about the CBT starting.

Yesterday was an NSD. DS1 had a fab time away but was exhausted when he got back. He says he's still tired and doesn't want to go anywhere today, so that fits with my 'quiet weekend' plans. DS2 is loaded with cold/coughing/gravelly voiced so we will just be staying in. DH seems quite miserable this morning :(, though he insists he feels ok. He was quite jerky last night when falling asleep too.

Lilt, I agree with Satchmo, you should get nets/blinds. I used an online company for the venetian blinds I ordered the other day and they were between £20 - £30 each for fairly big windows. I understand your reservations though, particularly as you are renting.

Hope everyone has a lovely Saturday Xx

Morning Lucky - glad the boys fit in with plans for a quiet weekend but bless them they don't sound good and not at all like the whirlwinds I am used to hearing about. A quiet weekend sounds like just the thing for both of them. Bet DS1 barely had any sleep whilst away!!

Piriton Liquid Lucky... for DS2. My pharmacist recommended it (because they are awesome) and then the Dr said that was a fab idea and gave me a prescription for it so I got it free!!

Fairly big windows... Mine are... 170cm across by 210cm down for the main one, the smaller ones are the same length but half width, 3 of each... - had to have a blackout blind specially made for Jellys room, which even after a half price discount and some haggling cost me £65. I think Net curtains are definitely the way to go. Lady downstairs always has different ones up and will ask her where from as she is a bargain queen ;)

Have a lovely chilled out Saturday hun xxx

  • Excellent idea re Piriton Lilt! Can't believe I hadn't thought of it as DH takes hayfever tablets for colds. I have a boots own make allergy liquid for kids so he's had a dose of that, hopefully it will help. He's been happily playing with Lego most of the morning.

Big windows then! Just put your measurements in online to the company I used, and the same white venetian blind I ordered would be £74 for you .

DH was talking about going out for a run but we've both decided he shouldn't. There's something I can't quite put my finger on about him today, but he's not quite right. And I'm at work tonight so he and MiL are in charge of the boys, so that's worrying enough without him tiring himself out running too (or worse!).

Fingers crossed it does the trick for him. I just dope Ellie up with it these days whenever a cold comes in. Amazing at night the difference!!

Yes very big windows. And single pane sash windows no less. So basically like having giant holes in the walls to let the cold in :rotfl:

Hope DH is ok.. and you manage work fine without incident. Am braving the great outdoors to go to the park shortly. As soon as I can be bothered to get out of my towel ;) xx

  • Busy shift at work tonight, not least because I was on my own :(. Glad it's over and done with.

DS2 was already in bed when I got home so I haven't seen for myself, but apparently he has been pulling at his ears and hitting them because they were hurting :(:(. Will see how he is through the night, or in the morning if he sleeps through (fingers crossed!).

DH is 'vague' tonight. It's all go!!
