I think that's true, beanie. There are a few things in life with hidden extra costs, like being single, but with being disabled, not only are there hidden costs, there are huge, visible extra costs, like what you're going through now :( It really does seem like an obstacle course :(

We had to swap cars mid lease to get a hoist fitted - we explained that we needed it due to DHs condition worsening and that I could no longer lift the scooter in and out because of the damage it was doing to my elbows and they waived the contract termination fee and the hoist only cost us £100 in the new car. Phone again and ask what they can do to help.

Hi Beanie :) It does sound like you're up against it with things at the minute :( Pooky's suggestion sounds good, although I imagine you're fed up to the back teeth of trying to sort things out aren't you. xx

Yes, they will waive the early termination fee because I cannot lift the scooter in & out but I certainly got the impression from what they said that a hoist would be at least 500 quid which at the moment I just cannot afford.
I am exhausted with it all.

Is it worth just taking a breather from it all for a few days. It's not as though you've just been dealing with this - a few things have happened recently that I don't doubt have really affected you. :( Trying to sort the practicalities and financials of a scooter, car, hoist etc. might just be too much at the moment.

I'm not saying totally forget about it, just give yourself a rest from thinking about it until you're feeling more on an even keel.

Having said that have you heard anything from the shop about the scooter? xx
