I am pretty sure they are a bit like the leisure batteries we have in the motorhome, which means there are two sorts - sealed lead-acid or gel (both maintenance free but need charging every day). The chargers are smart chargers which means they stop the trickle charge once the batteries are charged up. It is important not to let the charge drop by inactivity (so charge every night is best practice).

My understanding is that the gel ones are the way to go, but only if you can afford them. You should find you need 2 and they must be the same (as they work in series - you don't need to understand all that side). If you find a supplier who can fit them for you, they can be provided VAT-free. You may need someone to measure up to make sure you know both the current dimensions of your existing batteries and their power output so you order ones that fit. If you bought your scooter from a disability provider locally they might well be able to collect and do this (and will know what you need) and then deliver back to you.

Morning Beanie :) Hope you get the batteries sorted. I've no idea about anything like that so stand in awe of Suffolk-Lass's knowledge, which I'm sure will be a great help :) Have a good day. x

It is important but is it the start of the slippery slope is my worry.
