Enjoy your time with your family.  It doesn't need to be a slippery slope.  You can rein it back in once they've gone.

I doubt it's the start of a slippery slope Beanie. Sometimes it just feels strange spending money on things we're not used to spending on. x

I agree - I spend more money than usual when I'm taking part in family events, or even planning/preparing for them, because having my energy and time available for being with them is more important than the extra money.  Hope you're having a good time :)

I've got the same issue myself beanie. My trusty shower suddenly gave up . It's over the bath so I do have the bath. However I had the shower installed because both youngest and I struggled with the bath . Shower is years old so doesn't owe me anything but a number of things have stoppped working since the pandemic began and needed replacing so can't run to a new shower at the moment. Hairwashing is a nightmare, used to do it under the shower and youngest has used a shower stool for years.
No idea what the situation is in Scotland but would there be any grant you could apply for to replace yours? Could be worth finding out. glad you've had some family time.

Keep plodding love and best wishes to all here.

    Have great family time .
Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.

  • Lou What type of shower is it, one like this?

Mira Go Electric Shower 8.5kW (toolstation.com)

That gives you an idea of the cost of the unit.

You do need an electrician to fit it, so his labour costs on top of that.
If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.

Morning Beanie :) Sorry, no idea about the shower costs. We've used Rate My Builder though if you're struggling to find an electrician. It's good to be able to read all the reviews. Have a good day. x

No idea about the shower. We had the whole bathroom done a few years back but the prices will have changed a lot since then.
