Thanks gmood. As much as I'm used to hospitals, I've been lucky enough to avoid overnight stays and emergency admissions for several years, which is rare with my medical condition. At least if I do need the surgery, I'll ask them to do the line whilst I'm already in, saves more time off work and less invasion, 2 for 1 I guess!!!
my teeth seem to be the only thing I haven't needed anything doing with, so fingers crossed it stays that way!

So I've not posted for a while, but there's not really been a lot going on.
Wednesday was just the dentist as above. Thursday was bus fare to work, then i owed my manager £7.70 for work lunches. It was the work party on Friday, and I only spent £1 all day on sandwiches for lunch.
My mum works at the same company so she bought lemonade at the work party, and we used it to make spritzers with the table wine!! OH dropped us off and picked us up, and our friend gave us £10 towards petrol as it was cheaper than her paying for a taxi. On Saturday OH was at work so I didn't leave the house all day, had two very lazy days last week which I will be glad of when the chaos hits this week.
After having our fridge freezer switched off for a couple of days, we put it back on on Saturday afternoon, and it all seems ok now, so we transferred everything back across yesterday, so we just need to take my sister's fridge freezer back to them before Christmas.

Yesterday I went to my sisters and we nipped to asd@, she had £5.83 in her purse, so she managed to get her weekly shop for £5.27! I was impressed. She bought bread, ham, multipack crisps and chocs, and yoghurts for the niece! I'm going to do the same today. Spend what I have in my purse instead of using my bank card. :)
OH got some gift vouchers as a work bonus, seeing as he didn't use the ones he got last year, we've decided to use them for our parents for Christmas. I felt bad about not getting them anything, but I can either make up hampers by spending the vouchers, or more than likely I will make up hampers with what we have already, then give them the vouchers on top. So we technically still won't have spent anything, but parents will at least get something for Christmas. I don't feel so bad now.
I probably won't get round to posting again for a while, its going to be busy, with the in laws here for Christmas, then my sister's wedding on 28th, hospital appointment new years eve, its going to be chaos!
So, i hope you all have a wonderful christmas and new year, thank you all for stopping by and following my (slow) journey, and I'll catch up again in the new year. Love MrsT. :j

    Woop, I've been paid!!

    Pay in £1034.35
    Account balance £1070.49

WOW!! This is the FIRST time in over 2 years that my bank account has been in credit by more than £1000!! It won't last long, but it feels awesome to not see a minus figure even after being paid. Not had my payslip, but I'm assuming this pay has some accrued overtime from last month, and I haven't had any hospital days deducted as I used up a days holiday. Not getting too excited because next months pay won't be that much.

Going to work out my budget based on my pay, rather than the account balance, and leave the surplus (from last month) as a back up, or transfer to savings if I haven't used it by the end of this month.

    £500 rent
    £150 groceries
    £17 phone bill
    £35.73 car insurance
    £5 savings
    £69 debt repayments
£50 work transport and hospital parking
    £8.05 prescription
    Total £834.78
    Remaining £199.57

Thats a nearly £200 surplus, after all my bills, but not including sisters wedding present, which I still havent got, and birthday presents for my grandma and mum.
Technically the £35.73 has already been paid as I made a double payment last month because of the balls up with the DD, so although I've put that down in the budget, I won't have to pay that. Will probably transfer it to savings instead at the end of the month.

Last months total grocery bill, including christmas food was £149.03 :T So I kept to the £150 budget, even with christmas stuff to get! (Although it doesn't include stuff that OH has bought or stuff I need to get today - which I guess now I've been paid, actually falls in NEXT months budget). I know I can do this now and may cut the budget down to £120 per month, which is £30 a week instead of £37 per week (roughly £30 food, £7 toiletries/cleaning stuff)

The rent isn't due until 1st Jan, but I'm going to pay that today so its done and out the way, then the rest of the payments are then on DD's and I know the money will be there for them to be paid :j
I'm feeling so positive now. :D

Merry Christmas and happy new year everyone!!

Thank you all for your support!

Thanks misstara. Although I've got a long way to go, I can see a light at the end of the tunnel now, paying off my debt is actually achievable now.

Just a side note, how do you work out the percentage that you've paid off?

Debt paid off divided by total debt X 100

    7586-7111.15=474.85
    474.85/7586=0.06259
    0.06259X100=6.3% paid off

    Hope that makes sense :)

Thanks! I might add this to my signature, its nice to see it as a number like that. Although, mine will go up so slowly, it would be more of an incentive for me to do it with the savings, as I will be able to build that up quicker as I can't make overpayments on my DMP.

Just a quick post because I can't sleep and this is the only place I feel safe enough to post.
Had lovely Christmas so far, received far too many gifts and now feel incredibly guilty about not being able to give back.
My friend has text me today to announce her pregnancy, my manager announced hers last week, and there are at least 3 of my Facebook friends that are also expecting. I'm really happy for them, but also feel conflicted and envious, which is very unhealthy.
I've wanted children for as long as I can remember, and asked OH on our 2nd date if he wanted children, which he said he did. If he'd said no, I wouldn't have pursued the relationship further.
After genetic testing and follow up appointments with the specialists in London, we now know that there is 50% chance of my condition bring passed on, but we would be eligible for a specific type of ivf which will eliminate the genetic defect. However, a pregnancy for me would be very dangerous, and the fertility consultant that we saw locally said he would not recommend me for ivf, unless we had it done in London at the specialist centre where I can be monitored more closely. Obviously with our financial situation, this is out of the question.
Since the fertility appointment last year, hubby has now stated that he does not want children, he doesn't think it will benefit us and it's too much of a risk, which is true.
so for the past year I'd forgotten about following up the fertility referral, and the more we discussed it, the more it appealing it is to not have children at all. Especially whenu niece came along, it was easier to appreciate a child free life.
But, it's Christmas, which is clearly child focused, my niece has been a delight to be around with all of the excitement and joy. I have also had am appointment letter for the genetics consultation so that we can go to the next stages of applying for the ivf which we had 'made up our minds' that we weren't going to do, and now this pregnancy announcement as well has got my heart ruling over my head again. I can't bear to cancel the genetics appointment, and my heart just won't let me give up on the idea of ud being parents. My head feels like mush tonight, I've been thinking too much again.
Sorry for the upsetting sentimental post, but i just needed to get this down so that I can try and sleep. I feel like hiding away for a while to clear my head, but its just not possible. Night all. Hugs.
