If I was lefty, I wouldn't have told you to take an IQ test. It wouldn't matter to me how wrong you were, I would fight for your right to be wrong or have an opinion. As you can see, this was not the case.

Secondly, the appropriate name is service users. We are trying to rehabilitate citizens
and being reminded of your previous convictions and offences is not always a positive way to go.

Thirdly, the department was substance misuse, which does not exist anymore to my knowledge. However, all that would be required would be a drug habit greater than occasional use to be brought under our umbrella at the time.

Finally, there were POs who would initiate an over familiar relationship with certain service users, however I was not one of them. My only concern was risk to the public and rehabilitation - not sharing spliff building advice.

And failing badly but that's another arguement.

Their previous convictions for drugs and their on going problems would be nothing compared to yours had you killed someone with dependants or seriously injured them whilst driving without insurance though.

Yes the mib would have eventually paid out, you if you killed them would probably go to prison section 3 z b or something and then they'd come after you for their loss so your house etc would go too.

So it's more a case of you missing perspective.

    Sorry.

Yes it's amazing how much damage you can do driving your stationary, off the road car parked in a field isn't it! :rotfl::rotfl::T:T:rotfl::rotfl:

Hope your fire fighting skills are better than your powers of observation! :D

Wont let me do it online, when I enter my details it says:

    Successful transaction

As there has already been a successful transaction for this vehicle a new transaction cannot be undertaken at this time.
You will need to apply for the vehicle tax or declare SORN at a Post Office® branch that deals with vehicle tax using the reminder (Vehicle Tax Application/SORN Declaration) or the Registration Certificate together with the MOT Test Certificate/GVT Test Certificate (if applicable) and fee.
For vehicles registered to a Northern Ireland address you must also take an insurance certificate or cover note.

If you have an enquiry relating to the Successful Transaction please call…
    Phone: 0300 123 4321 Textphone: 0300 790 6201

An advisor will be able to assist you 8.00am - 8.30pm Monday to Friday and 8.00am - 5.30pm on Saturday.

I'm wondering if you were using the reminder form reference number, rather than the registration document.

The former can only be used once, they told me after I had responses that the reference was not recognised.

I was told to tax in person at the post office in the last two days of September, but in the end I did it on the phone.

Under a different profile? I take it you have had previous experience then.

It appears to me that his style of "contribution" is to scaremonger and chastise people who are simply asking for advice. Unfortunately this merely reduces threads into play-ground slanging matches and creates animosity between members which is no use to anyone.

Interestingly, although he has given me "both barrels" in an attempt to ridicule me, he has still yet to point out what "incorrect" advice I have given to the OP. Fortunately the OP seems satisfied with the advice I have given so job done as far as i'm concerned.

Was basically asking if I will be in trouble for not being insured for 7 days and in fact, whether they rely on cameras to check who is not insured or if they have a database that will flag me up.

For insurance, they use the database.

Think you will find that Strider was having a bash at being sarcastic.
