Oh Pigpen how brave of you and well done for putting Noel's welfare before your own. I know exactly how you feel because I always, always stay for mine, but it is difficult getting my mind around it every time.
The first time I did it was for a cat my parents had looked after when it was abandoned by someone (long story, we were the only people that could take her on) and it was blindingly obvious she needed to see a vet - apparently only to me. I was furious with my parents because it was on the farm, and vets regularly came for the big animals - at least once a week - but for some reason they just Would Not ask them to look at this particular cat. So I took her to one of the practice surgeries, and held her and told her she was loved, which was more than she had from my parents for a decade - and charged it to my parents farm account. Ever since then, I've considered it to be a privilidge to be with any animal while they leave us, and in fact, in the end, did so for both of my parents! I have never, ever regretted it.
I've spent a lovely afternoon clearing out a cupboard and a drawer in my office and I think I've done something rather beautiful with some of the things I have loved owning, but it is time for them to go.Better is good enough.0 -
I didn't have much energy for flying after work today. I really felt like a needed a sleep, so I've only managed to clean the toilets.

Effy, you've done more than I have!:D
It's never easy Flying when Mr LW is wfh in any case - and after having a needle stuck in my paw.... but the good news is that after just 3 hours since having the cortisone injection, the lump on my left wrist is no longer burning when my hand is completely at rest.:T This is definitely a good sign.:o I can still feel it hurting when I press the computer keys, but it's early days yet, and I do remember from years ago that these injections take a while to kick in properly.
2nd half of yesterday's Shepherd Spy for dins tonight (I knew I wouldn't feel like cooking from scratch today) followed by the 2nd half of the choccie mousse.;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hi all
RIP Noel the cat - and hugs to Wendy's daughter with the failed driving test. It took me 2 goes and I remember it well.
Glad today was a good result for you LW. I have thought about you today.
We had a major event in our household this morning. DS1 went to the out of school education centre to restart his BTEC. He managed 2 hours which is the first education of any sort he has done in 18 months. No idea if he will manage it again next week but its a huge achievement for him.
And Dusty - you speak wise words but I cant do it. I cant sit down if there are things that need to be done, I just cant. Have finished paid employment for the day, everyone is fed and I will now have to start and clean. Will leave the washing I think though looking at the forecast.

Evening all,
Thank you for all your thoughts. Pigpen i'm so sorry (((hugs)))
Yesterday i managed a little washing and dinner, then went to DD's school for interviews. Thankfully there all happy with her progress and she is behaving very wella big u-turn from last year when she was being a pain and not doing homeworks.
Today i got the house hoovered, more washing done and run about doing charity stuff. I'm still waiting on printer to arrive with fliers and i need to get them out tomorrow. DD and DS3 have clubs to go to. I need to remake my bed yet (hate that job).

Hi again, Peeps.
Sorry to here about your fur baby, PigPen. It's always hard when they go but you know that they're in a good place.n
Feel like poo today but that's actually better than the last two days. Was all ready on Tuesday to be raring to go but ended up talking on the big white phone several times. Don't like throwing up, at all.
Did however get the resolve to clean the loo more because throwing up into a dirty loo = even worse. Spent Tuesday and Wednesday in bed but can actually function today. :A
Have managed to throw away the kitchen rubbish, empty the dishwasher, lob the recycling, and do a load of washing. Have also bunged dinner in; we're having baked spuds, ham, and some veg, just cause it's easy.0 -
In from work - must mention to someone that the firewall isn't working properly; we're not supposed to be able to get on forums/social sites at all
Sorry to hear about noel Piggers - but well done for being with him x
