I picked up one of these today. I think it looks ok. its about the size of the gammon ones they do that say serve 3 x

Ive been trying and failing to make a turkey shaped hole in the freezer but possibly if I get 2 of the small ones I could just about squeeze them in -

I also want to get the chicken inspirations from Morrisons for the match and more points so we might end up eating these instead on Christmas day :)

    Afternoon/evening all!

We got our new curtains, but they weren't the ones I'd reserved, as they turned out to be hideous in real life, so we ended up getting some which we both love but which are unfortunately not thermal lined! So now I need to try and find some interlining or thick thermal lining fabric of some description that fits our 90/90" and 90/72" curtains, as I'm struggling to find anything other than 54" wide at the moment! And I don't think it would work to stitch two pieces together as it will be noticeable, so now I'm a bit stuck! I also don't want to pay out another £55 on top of the ridiculous amount already spent today so ready-made options are out. So much for DH saying he'd sort it out himself... :rotfl:

Emma, thanks for the hints and tips, Iceland is on the possible agenda for some time around the start of next year if all goes according to plan with getting our house sorted. I've saved your links, so fingers crossed :D
  • Another thanks for EMMAP for the travel info, Iceland has been on my list for a while! I would like to hire a car, so hopefully you may have some more tips soon about how busy/easy it looks!

Oh, and I got £4 off £20 shop at wait rose in the post.

You won't find lining fabric that thick, and to be honest the join in the lining doesn't show, especially if it gets slipped into one of the inside bits of the gathers!

That is of course assuming you are hanging the lining from the bottom part of the rufflette!

The roads are very very quiet Ellie and the drivers were certainly very courteous to pedestrians and each other. We didn't hear a single beep the whole time we were there. There were often roads our coach was driving down where we didn't see another car for ages. Bliss.

They sent me £8 off £40 which will probably go straight in the bin tbh. But I got a £1 off biscuits without any limitations so might be able to get some free biscuits out of it.

Really? That's a pain. We've bought eyelet curtains with a thin cotton lining so we won't have rufflette issues. I was initially planning to either buy eyelet ready made thermal linings which will sit next to the current eyelets but might well look like a LOT of eyelets, and obviously extra expense, or attach my own lining to the inside of the current lining with Velcro or stitches, so it won't show on the front.

    Afternoon all.

Question regarding local Facebook groups - does anyone belong to one and if so have the rules and way it works changed recently?

I had a bit of a dabble before and sold a few things.

So I thought I would have another go at sorting some clutter out. So firstly I did a search but the search function is no longer working - you used to be able to just put your name into the search box top right and your previous listings came up so you could just bump them.

So now it means starting from scratch each time now

It also now says maximum of 5 items - that limit was not there a few weeks ago.
Otherwise it says to put things into an album - I think that means one FB message, all the photos plus a list of prices - but I like to put a description for each item.

I then wondered about doing ebay listing instead but with free collection - we are allowed 20 free listings a month - but then you still have to pay huge fees.

I don't think I am in the right mindset really for tackling any more of my clutter - I did start off OK this week - big bag of stuff to the food bank, clothing to the Oxfam clothing bank and another box and bag of stuff to the Oxfam shop. Also filled 5 Christmas shoe boxes and delivered them to the drop off point. I also took all of the summer skirts and some of the summer tops out of the wardrobe and boxed them up neatly in the under-bed box.

I'm on a few FB selling pages, the rules vary because they are run by different people. I've found that if your post has to be authorised you can't ever find it when you search.
I put stuff in an album and you can give every photo a description and price as well as a general post under the album. I find this the best way because I can bookmark the album page so I can always find it again without having to search.
I'm trying to have a huge clear out over the next few weeks but stomach playing up so much yesterday and today that I've had a pj day today and slept quite a bit :( starting to look bad for me again so bloods being done first thing Monday morning, want to get this under control and not end up in hospital again.
