Afternoon/evening all!
We got our new curtains, but they weren't the ones I'd reserved, as they turned out to be hideous in real life, so we ended up getting some which we both love but which are unfortunately not thermal lined! So now I need to try and find some interlining or thick thermal lining fabric of some description that fits our 90/90" and 90/72" curtains, as I'm struggling to find anything other than 54" wide at the moment! And I don't think it would work to stitch two pieces together as it will be noticeable, so now I'm a bit stuck! I also don't want to pay out another £55 on top of the ridiculous amount already spent today so ready-made options are out. So much for DH saying he'd sort it out himself... :rotfl:
Emma, thanks for the hints and tips, Iceland is on the possible agenda for some time around the start of next year if all goes according to plan with getting our house sorted. I've saved your links, so fingers crossed
54 is the standard width for curtain fabric, occasionaly you get 60".have you had a look on local markets?the shop i used to work in sold them for less than a tenner but we did used to manufacture them so that prob helped.:D
just seen your post, sewing a pair of readymade linings under eyelets will work,i did that with some ancient tab tops.0 -
The roads are very very quiet Ellie and the drivers were certainly very courteous to pedestrians and each other. We didn't hear a single beep the whole time we were there. There were often roads our coach was driving down where we didn't see another car for ages. Bliss.
:T
Just what I'd hoped then
Perfect, thank u0 -
Really? That's a pain. We've bought eyelet curtains with a thin cotton lining so we won't have rufflette issues. I was initially planning to either buy eyelet ready made thermal linings which will sit next to the current eyelets but might well look like a LOT of eyelets, and obviously extra expense, or attach my own lining to the inside of the current lining with Velcro or stitches, so it won't show on the front.
Just noticed I said that thick, I meant that wide! You don't tend to get any fabric over about 54 inches wide.
The eyelets bit complicates things if there is no rufflette. As for attaching it with Velcro, it would not be easy and it would affect the way the curtains hang. Is the current lining detachable? I assume not. The best thing I could come up would be to attach some rufflette underneath the eyelets and hang the lining on that, but not sure how it would look! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

I also got these, the worst of it is that it has my own mywaitrose card number on them so I cant even give them a new home - I imagine they would have to be manually imputed at the till .“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. I can deal with being uncomfortable etc and manage it the best I can, but it gets annoying - I left work the other day at 1pm having just been to the loo, went and got diesel at WF then went into Lidl as there was something I wanted (that ended up not being in stock) and half way round the shop I had to give up as I was absolutely desperate for the loo and in a lot of pain, so had to drive home. The whole thing is very frustrating.
How are you getting on back at work? We must meet up for a cuppa soon if you're still up for it? Would be lovely to meet you.
Im sorry its still not good:( and that is not far to have to wait:eek:
Yes not too bad thanks, hand knows i have been at work but got a bad foot now:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

when you flew in how did you get to your hotel from the airport - I seem to think there is an airport bus, remember seeing it I think but if so where di it drop you off?
And on your bus trips where did they pick you up from?
There is a ring road that does a circuit of Iceland but the complete route is only really open in the summer and I think it takes a couple of days to do the complete route“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Good evening guys...
If this was a home delivery, as you have cashback items for both MSM and Quidco on there, can i ask how you went about ordering them please?
Do you go on msm , put items in your basket, send it to Sada, then go on Quidco and do the same and are all items off both sites in the same online Sada basket?
